Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.Second Human Creation StoryGenesis 2:18-22: And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
So which story about the creation of Eve is supposed to be the "correct" one? The order and nature of events in these two Bible stories are contradictory and they cannot both be true, though they can both be false.

I'd like to point out that this likely has more to do with the renaissance painter who made the image than the book itself. The bible is full of contradictions, but I don't think this is one.

I'm not really into all that "religious" stuff, but was it not Lilith that was created together with Adam to be his first wife. But Lilith was proud and demanded equality with Adam because she was created from the same dust. That's why she left Adam and fled the Garden. Then God created Eve from Adam's rib, so that she couldn't claim equality.

I agree, but this could also give credence to the ancient legend and writing of Lilith, who is supposed to be Adam's first wife. Just throwing out a possibility...
