Description
Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.Second Human Creation StoryGenesis 2:18-22: And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
So which story about the creation of Eve is supposed to be the "correct" one? The order and nature of events in these two Bible stories are contradictory and they cannot both be true, though they can both be false.

Hmmph. If these two were actually specially created, they wouldn't have belly buttons.

There are some who interpret that the "rib" mentioned in Genesis as being removed from Adam by God is actually a euphemism for a baculum ; a bone found in the penis of many mammals. According to this interpretation, God's removal of the baculum is the biblical explanation of the absence of the bone in human penises. Just goes to show you just how little can be certain about the true meaning of the bible.

Reminds me of this:
"There were at least 12 Holy Foreskins in churches across Europe during the Middle Ages.
Churches and abbeys at Charroux, Paris, Boulogne, Metz, Le Puy, Nancy, Besançon, Coulombs and Conques in France, Hildesheim in Germany, Antwerp and Bruges in Belgium, and Calcata in Italy all at some stage claimed to own Jesus's foreskin, or a piece of it.
"There are so many Holy Prepuces [foreskins]," says Prof Francesca Stavrakopoulou, a professor of ancient religion at the University of Exeter. "It's like John the Baptist had at least three heads, if not more like eight. And it's the same as the Holy Foreskin. There are loads of them – probably so many more in existence than we actually know about."

Yep, penises and religion are an interesting mix. May the foreskin be with you.

Thank you and (r)amen and may the second foreskin be with you. We have enough, obviously. It isn't 'trinity' only this time, they are even more

They were not the first, as there were also humans outside the Garden of Eden, when they were kicked out.
But they were the first inside the Garden.

Ah, the classic haunting question of "Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?"

The whole book is a mish-mash, like a bad greatest-hits album with live versions and alternate takes. We'd have better luck finding cohesion in Grimm's Fairy Tales or 1001 Arabian Nights
