I wasn't going to post him until after his first episode because it's so difficult to design someone before I've seen them in action, but people kept asking for some Capaldi Capony...XD Check out the new cutie mark- that's a whole new set of regenerations right there!

I used a publicity photo for reference, and I saw it as black but it really depends on the lighting they used.Β
(Lighting also makes it tricky to pin down the right eye color, so there you go...XD)

Irrelevant trivia of the day: that is the precise reason why dark blue is acceptable as a substitute for black in men's suits - it looks just as dark (if not darker) in most indoor lighting conditions.

I keep thinking there should be some red in the outfit somewhere, but that's probably just because it was so noticeable in the first photo of Capaldi in the new outfit. Other than that, great job. I like the new cutie mark in particular.

The High Council of Gallifrey has the ability to grant certain Time Lords a new set of regenerations. Β They did this for several Time Lords as a reward for fighting in the Time War. Β That's why the Master, whose last original incarnation was Delgado, was able to regenerate after we met him as Yana. Β It was not the first time the Master had been offered a new set of regenerations either. Β If he'd been successful in the mission given to him during the events of the Five Doctors, he would have been granted a new regeneration cycle.
The Doctor was not simply given one extra life. Β He was given a whole new cycle. Β It was the High Council's way of both thanking him for saving them from the Time War and a way of assuring that they'd be able to escape the unique time lock they were placed in by the Doctor. Β And it's literally the only time in the show's 50 years (and the Doctor's 1,000+) that the Doctor's own people have EVER come through for him (Romana, Susan and other renegades excepted).

Considering the nature of the show, I doubt they'd leave it at only 'just one more'. He'll have regenerations for as long as they want it to continue.

Oh, I know that he's not the last. I just thought that the Time Lords granted him the one extra regeneration, and he'd get a new life in some other way when the Capaldi life is done.
