Description I have known vyond since 2017, I have seen many GoAnimate videos, such as grounded videos, punishment day videos, behavior card day videos, etc. In those days, I loved those videos, as of now, not so much, but there has been one type of videos that I NEVER liked, these types of videos are called "Character Eliminations". In this post, I will give my opinion about them.
As I said before, I never liked character eliminations, for many reasons, if you don't know how these character elimination videos work, keep reading, just like survivor, total drama and object shows, these types of videos involve random characters from TV shows, video games or OCs competing against each other to get 1000000 dollars (most of the time). Now, why do I hate these videos? Here are a few reasons.
1. The cake challenge, basically the beginning of 90% of all character eliminations, I swear, it is very rare to find a character elimination that has not used this challenge. In this challenge, the contestants have to eat a giant cake (sometimes it's another type of food), the character that the uploader hates the most puts on something disgusting, the other teammates argue with the troublemaker, the other team wins, and the troublemaker is eliminated in the next episode...
2. Forced character derailment, almost every character who sabotages their own team for no reason would never do it on their real show and ACTUALLY try to win.
3. These videos are just soulless versions of reality shows, just because they have characters from different worlds and universes doesn't mean the show is going to be original.
4. Like other types of GoAnimate videos, they are extremely repetitive, and are based on how much the uploader likes or dislikes, for example, a character the uploader hates has a 99% chance of being eliminated before the merge and a character the uploader likes has a 99% chance of surviving to the top 10.
5. Villains/troublemakers are always eliminated too early, which is a very big problem, because villains make every show more interesting, without villains, the show is incredibly boring.
6. Most of the time, there are no characters with personalities, this is another very big problem, there are almost no character eliminations where the characters have personalities, and no, arguing with a troublemaker or saying thank you to the prize handers doesn't count (or probably does, not for me tho).
7. The. Freaking. Penalties. This is one of the main reasons I hate CEs, the uploader is basically telling the viewers who to vote for to be eliminated from the game, the 3 most used penalties are the "vote me out" sign, extra elimination votes and a disadvantage, the worst of these is the "vote me out" sign because it is literally telling you who to vote for to be eliminated from the contest, unfortenatly it always works because most of the viewers of these types of videos are children. The "vote me out" sign was also used in BFDI, but the difference is that they used it in a funny way because it was supposed to be a joke, and it only happened once, while in CEs, they are taken very seriously and happen in almost every episode (especially before the merge).
8. Prize votes, really? Really? REALLY? If the prize isn't going to interfere with the challenge, why do you keep using them? Do you really think that a well-loved character receiving a PS5 as a prize and thanking the prize hander will be interesting?
9. Lazy challenges, most of them are ignored after the host says "GO!"
10. Interns. In total drama, interns used to test dangerous challenges for Chris, while in character eliminations.... They just make fun of the host, and then they get killed?!!! And some of them are children?!?!?!?!?!
11. Some of them have rushed finales (it's kind of rare tho), the uploader just decides to eliminate some contestants they don't want in the final off-camera, which is very unfair.
12. Some of them contain other goanimators, who are generally hated, and are eliminated early, which is pretty much cyberbullying.
I think these are all the reasons, overall I give this series a 0.5/10, it seems like I'm exaggerating, but I haven't found anything I like about this type of videos, although some character eliminations can be good, a very good example is Go!City Elimination by Poke Animations, I highly recommend watching this series.
If you like this type of videos, I can respect your opinion.
