MERCY- hold your flamming please^^' Yes I know occ's pairing with game characters are LAME, but at the very least I tried to make this one a special case- (if only barely >_>', plus they're not actually a pairing)
This isn't real Riku.
The Riku you see here is a figment this pictomancer has kept inside her own mind/heart ( it's hard to tell in the KH universe which is which isn't it?) to keep her company back home on earth. She lived an isolated life.
Kids come up with coping mechanisms for various reasons, this was simply hers, a variation of the age old ' Imaginary friend.'

This figment did what was needed: listened to her problems, insecurities: and was there inside her mind when things got scary and violent. Someone needed to tend to her mental wounds, and this was his job.

NOW- flash forward to the timeline of the RP itself.
She's in the Kingdom Hearts world for real, working along side a team of survivors to save the universe from Darkness.

And she's met the REAL Riku.

Reality is always different from fiction.
This protagonist eventually begins to realize more she gets to know him, the less and less easy it is to see the figment in her dream world.
The figment Riku is fading away, as his creator interacts with the real one more and more.
It's hard to say if the real one will ever be as close to her as this figment was. Will he care, or even be her friend?

I wanted to explore the gravity of reality, when things you used to believe are torn away. ( sort of a coming of age story I guess)

She had a conversation with another figment who's closer to her in terms of personality symmetry.
Part of the conversation was this...

' It's easy when you've never met someone, or spoke to them, to pretend they care about what happens to you.'
' But then if by some cruel twist of fate you meet them... it's a real reality check to understand they're like a blank slate.
They don't know you at all. You're a complete stranger, and they could care less.'

So this girl weeps as slowly, little by little, she's losing her best friend... to reality itself.
