Description
18x24" 45x60cm acrylic on hardboardAs I may have mentioned before, the downside for me when improvising a painting is that I tend to follow set patterns: structuring a scene in a way that I know works rather than trying to invent on the fly something different. This painting is a perfect example in that it is a almost a direct redo of my Upland Road on a Frosty Morning piece that I did several weeks ago. I was more interested in getting a spring-y color and feel than a new view. I don't think I was all that successful in any aspect of this painting, but what the heck, I'm just learning and if I insisted on perfection, without even knowing what perfection looks like, I wouldn't get anywhere... Besides, I needed a spring scene to replace the Upland Road on a Frosty Morning painting over the fireplace. Though it's still all white and winter outside, I've determined that it's spring inside.

This reminds me so much of where I live in England. Simple yet alluring...

It's the one from Yours the most beautiful pictures. I like the light and space.

Thank you. There's not much to it, but I've come to like it more and more. But I sort of like pieces that are too simple for most people to like.
