6x8" 15x20cm acrylic on hardboardI like the way this one turned out. I considered opening up the foliage on top to show a little sky: it would be a little more realistic if I did so. However, realism is not on the agenda in this piece. I did it in the next piece, a close cousin of this one, just to see how it would work. I know what you mean, the forest is rather dark and brooding, but I left it so because I wanted the contrast between the darkness and sunlit stone wall.
