Description
Edward, Bella and baby NessieThis is a quick colour study with acrylics paints, (about 2 hours? )
I want to try this new medium, so I'm experimenting. It's still halway between a drawing and a painting.. but I'm slowly getting towards making it look more like a painting and less like a drawing... lol

A family portrait I missed little Nessie :-D Somehow your painting reminds me of the old paintings of the Virgin Mary with her little baby... maybe itΒ΄s the way Bella looks down to Nessie... Edward looks here very strong and serious, doesnΒ΄t he?
Great job, Kim

I love your comment, it makes me discover things I hadn't seen myself! You are right, I must have been influenced (unconsciously) by some old Nativity portraits... the picture does remind a bi tof them now that I come to think of it! But it was unintentional
I wanted to show Bella completeky oblivious and basorbed in her new baby and Edwrad very serious and protective

IΒ΄m relieved youΒ΄re not angry about my comment, and that you love to hear my assoziation makes my happy Bella looks really oblivious and Edward protective, so itΒ΄s how you wanted, only with some Nativity feeling. Sometimes when we draw we intend something but we have no influence of how it seems when itΒ΄s done... :-D

oh no hun I would never be angry!! Why ? Your comment was clever and showed me thing sI had not seen.
It's really fascinating how we don't even realized how we are influenced by memories andart we've already seen...

Very true.. it should have been kind of romantic and sweet... as it happened, it's not really that...

Maybe..but the result is still great, if you're not aware of the intended atmosphere, isn't it?

It does and yet it wasn't my intention but I'll take this as a compliment haha
It's strange, how influenced we are (unconsciouly) by the art we loved and saw when we were younger... I was very mich into classic painting and the old masters... it's resurfacing here with this pic and yet I never planned it.
