She often lacks the confidence to back up her ambitions and can be a push-over but recently, in order to survive the subtly barbed comments of upper-crust society, Connie has begun to experiment with more manipulative tactics to achieve her goals.

Brief History:

Connie and her younger sister Prudie were raised by a nanny and a father who, while loving and encouraging, preferred his workplace to the house where his wife died. Their comfortable middle class existence was peppered with picnics and storybooks that inspired hours of make-believe adventures in which Connie happily provided a sidekick to her little sister. The only time Connie outshone Prudie was in the science-minded subjects at school; it seemed Connie could coax sense from any assortment of figures and formulae.

Attending college for statistics and accounting chucked Connie right out of her cosy comfort zone but it was thrilling too - like a morning dip in a cool lake. Even more thrilling was that no sooner had she given her heart a stern talking to about its unseemly thumping in the presence of one Henry Applegate, he asked her to dinner. Four months later she was marrying into the dizzyingly rich Applegate family and trading dreams of graduation for an alien world of famous party guests, expensive wines and tablecloths fancier than her best dresses.

Too naïve for the society of her husband's sisters and too busy for her own, Connie struggled to stay afloat. The next few years were darkened by a few miscarriages and the revelation that the Applegate 'fortune' was more hollow than an Easter egg. Connie spent her days alone with Roosie and the chores, doing the family accounting to keep herself grounded, until at last she had a son two years ago. Though a sickly child, Arthur brought out the best in his parents and their relationship; Connie just wished Henry would spend more time with them and less with those dark-suited businessmen from the up-and-coming Silph Co.

Name: Roosevelt

Species: Granbull

Moveset: Play Rough - Dig - Shadow Ball - Thief

Ability: Quick Feet

Size: Mouth comes up to kitchen table height when all fours but she could put her paws on your shoulders standing up (~1.4m), size of a large lab/small bear

Personality:

Clever and curious, Roosie is the kind of dog you have to worry about when they're too quiet rather than too loud. She's been known to disappear for days on end and come back looking like she's been dragged through several hedges backwards but she does have an innate sense of when Connie needs here and never fails to pop up with a disgusting full-face lick at exactly the right moment. She's shy around most other pokemon and people but very rarely shows aggression. Connie gave up on trying to keep her clean long ago.

Brief History:
Against all advice, Connie's father got her Roosie as a pet to keep her company at university. There, Roosie spent her snubull years happily nosing around dark library corners and befriending anyone in the dorms willing to share food and not make a big fuss. Moving into the big city has provided Roosie with a whole host of new back-alley adventures but she actually spends more time keeping Connie company and playing with Art nowadays.

It took two years for Connie to realise Roosevelt was in fact a female.
Her pokeball is old and doesn't always keep her in properly
Roosie likes to make herself shadow balls to chase around the garden; they've spoilt more than one crop of pumpkaboo

Gender: None, though Connie calls it a 'he' more than a 'her'

Size: Main body sphere is tennis ball-sized; about as tall as a water bottle in total, not counting the electric aura
Personality:
There is a reason this personality prototype was rejected for wider consumer release. Gizmo is as likely to cook a transcendentally delicious roast as he is to set the kitchen aflame. He likes to behave averagely for long periods of time so she never knows when an appliance will suddenly start leaking purple toxic gloop. More favourite tricks include putting substitutes into appliances and laughing as she tries to work out what's wrong, and sneaking up behind her, Roosie and even Arthur to deliver little static shocks.
Brief History:
Gizmo was Connie's Christmas present from Henry last year to help speed up the housework, bought cheaply off the quality reject pile in a different division of his company. He often has the opposite effect but he's sure to behave excellently when Henry's around so that Connie can't prove it and to be honest, she probably wouldn't return him at this point even if she could.
Misc:

He's never actually been caught by Roosie in one of their cat-and-mouse chases and is secretly genuinely scared of becoming a chew toy

Dislikes being inside his pokeball due to lingering fear of being suddenly 'discontinued'
