Well, this only took me two weeks to FINISH, but I finally managed to get it done. I haven't spent this much time on one piece of art in a very long time. Geh.

Anyhow, this is Dem, standing amongst the ruins of what was once the great city of Irk. When a rebellion of slaves rises within the Irken Empire, a massive war ensues. A bomb that was constructed with the purpose of literally blowing Irk to pieces was, at one point during the battle, launched prematurely and exploded just above the atmosphere instead. A massive crater was gouged in the surface and all power to Irk failed. The blast also took out a large chunk of the armada, along with Tallest Red and everyone else on the Massive which was completely obliterated.
This was the final blow that allowed the rebellion to succeed. The remainder of the armada fled as the rebel fleet bombarded what was left of Irk. With the help of a long-lost group of hidden irkens from 'Beta-Irk'(a group that separated themselves 3000 years ago during the Irken Civil war. They joined the rebellion without the knowledge of the bomb or plans for Irks total destruction, and had in fact hoped to help keep the irken deaths to a minimum) the last control brain was destroyed.
It's now been five years sinse the end of the war. With the control-brain, which kept irkens at a smeet-like state physically, now destroyed, irkens have fully developed into 'adults' and taken to each other for mates and whatnot. This is not without its confusion, as those left alive on irk not only had to deal with the new concepts such as weather(the weather-control systems being down)...very HARSH weather, actually, seeing as water(irk water...doesn't burn their skin) had gathered in the crater(as you see in the distance above). There is also the struggle for food, and general confusion within the first few years adapting to this new harsh environment. Eventually things settle down and even out, as the Beta-Irkens sent what few helpers they could(due to low-resourses while fending off the remainder of the rebellion) to help what few pakked-irkens remain back up onto their feet.
This is all actually a blending of three fics. The rebellion is from Yumegaris fic, the beta-irkens are from Nukus' fic, and the control brain concept is from IrkenIckyChips' fic. THey blend to form an RPG that we all play in.
Dem here is Nukus' character, and I play his mate, Liuz. ^_^

I never really explain what's going on or who the people are in my pictures. I spent so much time on this, I figured you deserve SOME kind of explanation.
There are many, many more details I didn't go into here, but that is the basics of the story in which we play. Plenty more 'Apocolypse Fic' pictures to come, likely with further explanations. ^_^
