Description
A Glass Frog (don't recall the exact species) from Costa Rica. These are a very sensitive group of frogs, vulnerable to habitat loss, pollution, and chytrid fungus. The name "glass frog" describes the underbelly of these frogs, which is transparent: the internal organs and skeleton are visible through the skin. This translucence helps the frog blend in to its surroundings better, as it adapts the color of whatever it is perching on.
