Nali-Tik adjusted her headdress and looked at her reflection in the mirror. The young komodo smiled. Her mothers, Tika and Nali-Tol had gotten permission form Queen Emerline to take Nali-Tik and her sister, Bliss, away from the Island Kingdom to explore the wider world. Nali-Tik was sure it would be an exciting adventure. She turned as she heard her bedroom door open and saw Bliss standing there. Her sister looked beautiful in her traditional robes. The timid young whiptail nodded at her sister."Mothers are ready, Nali," she said. "Are you all set?"
Nali-Tik walked over and hugged her sister.
"Of course I am," she replied. "I can't wait to see what's out there for us."
Together the two girls headed out, their hearts thumping in expectation. This was going to be the adventure of a lifetime...
