Description
Cutter the Stegosaurus slowly and carefully made his way through the thick foliage, trying to make sense of how his life had turned topsy-turvy. It seemed like yesterday that he and his best friend, Grimm the Tyrannosaurus had been living a peaceful, simple life, and then they came. Strange beings, who fell to Mobius on a trail of flame. The strangers were not peaceful. They called themselves Rulons, and attacked the local mobosaur population, turning them into slaves by means of bizarre metallic headgear. The mobosaurs had no chance to fight back, such was the speed that the Rulon forces swept through the region. Cutter had only just escaped, but in the chaos he had lost track of Grimm. Cutter frowned. He knew Grimm could normally take care of himself, but the Tyrannosaurus had been missing for the last couple of days and Cutter feared the worst. The Stegosaurus paused as he neared the Rulon base, located in the rocky lava fields. He couldn't go any further without leaving the treeline, and that meant stepping out of cover. Cutter scanned the area, looking for any sign of Grimm. Suddenly he heard a noise behind him and turned. Three mobosaur Triceratops were standing there. They wore thick metallic armor and their eyes glowed a dull red.
"You halt," one of them said to the stegosaur. "You now prisoner of Rulon masters. You make good slave."
Cutter growled. Without thinking he charged and somersaulted forward, curling up and forming a buzzsaw with his plates. The Triceratops patrol scattered out of the way. Cutter flicked his tail, the thagomizer on the end digging into the ground and flipping him up, allowing him to uncurl and land on his feet. He glanced back at the patrol who were still trying to regroup, and ran. Cutter forced his way through the foliage, desperate to get away when a shape stepped out from a thicket. Cutter skidded to a stop, stunned as he recognized his friend, Grimm. The Tyrannosaurus glared at him from under a Rulon brain box. Cutter groaned.
"Grimm, no."
Grimm marched forward without a word, and Cutter braced himself. He didn't want to fight his friend, but it seemed he had no choice. The tyrannosaur paused. Cutter dropped his guard slightly. Maybe his friend recognized him. Something slammed down onto his head, and Cutter gasped. He grabbed his head, his fingers sliding over smooth metal. In his shock of finding Grimm, he had allowed the Triceratops patrol to come up behind him. Cutter blinked. He wanted to fight, to escape, but his thoughts became murky and muddled. He tried to think. It was no use. The brain box wiped away his will, making him subservient to his new masters. A dull red glow filled Cutter's eyes, and his muscles went slack. The triceratops patrol turned and made their way back to the alien base, followed by Grimm. Cutter watched. He knew what he had to do. He fell in line behind the tyrannosaur and returned to his new home. There was much work to do. All resistance to the Masters had to be eliminated so that the Rulons could rule this world...
