Xavier looked about the room, searching through the party guests. He caught a glimpse of his friends, Declan and Parisa in a corner, talking and laughing, but they weren't who he was trying to find. Xavier was almost ready to give up looking when an idea struck him. He headed outside and looked up towards the roof. There! Xavier caught a quick glimpse of a tail before it pulled back out of sight. He jumped, and climbed up onto the roof. Laying there, looking up towards the sky was Shun the fox.
"What are you doing up here?" Xavier asked.
Shun simply shrugged.
"I just wanted to be alone," she replied.
"Mind if I sit here with you?"
A slight bit of color entered Shun's cheeks as she blushed. A rare feat for her.
"Of course not Xavier," she said.
Xavier lay back, and reached out his hand, placing it on Shun's, causing her to blush even more.
In the distance, a clock chimed 12, and fireworks suddenly light the night sky. Xavier and Shun looked at each other with a smile.
"Happy new Year, Shun."
"Happy new year, Xavier..."
