The two figures sat at the table going over the plan. Tannin, a skunk, looked at a map of the forest that surrounded the small town. A red cross marked out the target. He glanced up at his companion, a squirrel named Thermal.
"Are you ready?" Tannin asked.
Thermal paused from his work.
"Almost," he replied. "I just need to put the finishing touches on this spell."
The squirrel got back to work, his quill scratching out symbols on a piece of paper.
Tannin smiled slightly. His friend was a fire mage disciple. Tannin himself was a disciple of forest magic.
"The spell will be strong enough, won't it?" Tannin asked.
Thermal nodded wordlessly.
"Good," Tannin said These trees are hard to destroy. We don't need any mistakes."
Thermal chuckled.
"There won't be any mistakes, Tan," he replied finishing up his work. "Just as long as you can get us close enough."
The two friends smiled. They both knew how important, and how dangerous, this mission was. If they succedded, there would soon be one less Sargassic Giant around to worry about...
