Description
I always wanted to make a rain picture (specially these days, instead of snowing it's just raining here...) I wanted to archieve that typical rain effect used in 2D animation movies
Generally it is a random gryphon character with brown tiger stripes on the back, though I will use it for my gryphon series...Photoshop CS2 + Wacom Intuos2 Tablet

I'm especially interested in how you manage to do this in CS2. oO You've taken to adding details as in shading the feathers and the background is just something I don't know how you managed in that program. Great job.

The backgrounds is done different than the character itself, meanwhile the background is brushed using various brush sizes with different layers, effects and opacity as well as a painted shading and the character is shaded using gradient surfaces and overall surfaces for color and also light, just like used in cellshading, I do add a lot of effect stuff later on so that these two styles fit better together

Hmm, really, yes! The story is old, but the gryphon in there has a similar look or at least what I always imagined for Alan... I should really try to find the end chapters of the story, wrote them once but after my HD crash it's possible that its all gone *sigh* and I never got the chance to upload them.

I have to say, this is the most awesome gryph-pic I've seen in a long time. When I saw it in the the thumbnail, I thought, "Oh, wow, that looks like a good one!" And it definitely is.
The rain effect is so cool, but I also love the expression and detail!
