Description
... and another animated Scene, I keep doing running creatures cause that's the best trainingAnyway, I wanted to animate Yang since ages, and I already have a fave image of him, so I used that one as base
again, it's no frame-by-frame animation, it's done using the puppet Tool in AfterEffects and some more other effects and stuff added
First time that I added an animated reflection, also used a dog gallop dia as reference for the movement, hope it looks a bit more decent.
Just thought I share as the people seem to like those scenes, not really much happening there though
EDIT: well just ignore the head, it's looking like that because of the baseimage I used ( [link] ) not sure if I can change that, would need to draw the head completely new, it's hard to change those animations though...
EDIT 2: changed the HEAD and some other small parts, hope it looks better now

what's so amazing is that this looks so fluid without needing each frame to be hand-drawn. beautiful.

Thankie!
It's a bit like a 3D model just mapped onto a 2D surface with joints a lot of playing around though...

You're getting much better! I especially like the movement of the tail. The splashy bits seem like they don't fall back fast enough though...
I <3 Yang

Many thanks!
I made them moving slower, indeed, mainly to make the splashy bits even visible at all, having the same speed as the background they were only visible for two frames or so

0: Thats pretty nifty! It looks so fluid and the splashes really give it a nice touch. I didn't know you could do stuff like that with After Effects o_o I must look into this now xD

Thanks a lot!
The creature was cut into parts and animated using the puppet tool in AfterEffects, as well as the background stuff

cool, though wouldn't his beak be facing more toward the left than toward the viewer?

Yeah, his running looks a bit awkward since his head and neck positioning don't really match his stride.

yeap, that was indeed strange, gave him a new head now and also changed parts of the neck movement, should look better now
