I really am in love with this! although the program I use is a bit different, I think it will transition well.
I am searching through coloring styles, to help myself improve, and I am trying to pool the skills of a bunch of talented people, in hopes it will help me find a suitable style!
thank you!ย

I am using photoshop cs.....8? I think. I came with my tablet. I do love it, but It doesn't have a lot of things to alter brushes though. like wetness options and such.

It seems my version doesn't have Shade mode. What version do you use, and if it's possible could you link me to where you got it? Though I don't have the Shade mode for my layers, when I follow your tutorial as best as I can the eyes turn out beautifully! Thank you for posting this!

hnnn, that's strange, well you can use the multiply tool in a new layer(using the same colour or a bit darker) or in a new layer working with a darker and bit desaturated version of the color you are using,
Lately I've being doing that in some of my drawings. Even I'm not using the program anymore(but I still have it) is the SAI 1.1.0, [link]
I hope it was useful to you, and also I'm glad you liked my tutorial

sorry for the late reply, the blur, well I supose is called like that in the english version (I'm using the Spanish version) is the second one marked in the first picture, it has a "pen" with a drop, and as the other tools you can change the size, density, texture, etc, etc of it, is very useful!

Do you know what the layer 'shad' would be in English? Normal, Multiply, Screen, Luminosity, Overlay, and Binary Color.? ( those are in order in case you need to match it up)

LizUsui In reply to ssspitfire [2012-07-21 05:52:29 +0000 UTC]
"shad" or "shade"? because if it is "shade", is the luminosity one is above it

Sade. Sorry about my misspelling. Thank you! It should be overlay, then.

Thanks for the tutorial but I have a single question, Iยดm really new at using Paint Tool SAI so excuse my ignorance, what is blur and how do you do it? Thanks!

LizUsui In reply to Darksideheart [2012-07-21 05:46:50 +0000 UTC]
hm, I don't really how is called in English, I have the spanish ersion, but if you look at the first image where the tools are, the second spoted tool is the one that does the bluring of a previous painted area, it makes it more smooth
