Description Well, I'm going to start by saying a *big* thank you to for his patience with me during this commission. He's been really patient with me through a really busy period at work, and has given me the space to put the effort into his piece.

And effort it has been!

As I've never really watch Star Trek, getting commissioned with this idea required initially, a lot of research. I had a base idea for the image, but no reference pictures. I find it much harder to just envision and draw without references of some kind, so trying to find Janeway's shuttle, and then wreck it up in my head was a big ask without references. Then once I'd gotten the shuttle and Janeway sorted, I spent *hours* trying to think of a good composition.

I'm glad the image got there in the end, but there's a lot of 'firsts' in this one for me. I've been using my boyfriend's tablet to draw bits and pieces for this one, and help with the colouring/shading. Plus, I've decided to go for a much more realistic style, which as I'm not used to that yet, took far longer than I anticipated. I've also decided to try a glazed eye instead of a spiral one.

I hope x-from-x likes his piece, though I'm curious to see what the community thinks of the new style. Do you prefer it to the simpler, more cartoonised style before? Thicker lines and shading, or this more realistic style? Does this style dip into the uncanny valley? lol.

I'd love to hear what you all think!

PS. I'm most proud of my tricorder

Excellent work on Janeway and Kaa. I wish could find more on Kaa and Star Trek girls such as Nyota Uhura, Deanna Troi, Seven of Nine, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Dax, Ro Laren, Janice Rand, and B'Elanna Torres.
Β That will be great. All I see Kaa hypontize girls on internet usually are Disney or anime girls. I would like to see more of Star Trek, Marvel, and DC girls gets hypontize by a snake name Kaa.

Hello! I'd like to ask your permission to repost this art on tumblr. I would credit you of course and put a link back to DeviantArt. I'm running a blog about janeway and I'd like to add some new art. The blog is named gentlejaneway if you'd like to check it out. If you aren't comfortable with reposting, I totally understand. Thanks!

Came up with a caption for this:

Kaa: "Look, into my eyes and ...... '

Janeway: "No way, you slithering creep!!Trying to
use your hypnotic tricks on me...I'll kick your scaly butt!"

Kaa: "We snakes don't have butts."

Janeway "Oh...Then it won't hurt you that much."

Kaa: "Uh-oh....Ohh crap!"

Kudos Kaa, you have saved Voyager from Janeways wrath. Harry Kim is weeping with joy.

Very nice. This would have to be on Earth. Unless Kaa somehow wound up on an alien planet. And yes, Janeway is missing her communicator badge. Excellent work.

I see she lost her communicator badge during the crash as well (that or the artist forgot to draw it ).

You can always go back and add the communicator badge, and a phaser.

Watch it Kaa!!!

She's armed with a phaser...

Uhh, I don't see a phaser on her.

There were a few episodes in TNG (and one in Voyager) where they were armed with small Type 1 phasers they could slip in a pocket for when being visibly armed wouldn't be appropriate. Think of it as the Trek version of 'concealed carry'. [link]

Yes. But in the situation depicted in the picture, a type 2 phaser would have been more appropriate.

I love how you do your figures. You always bring them such life and vitality. There is something in how you draw and color them that is so attractive and compelling. Great surroundings you adapted too.

Points for accuracy in having a shuttle crash be the impetus for this meeting. They were ALWAYS crashing shuttles on Voyager.

Seriously, they were the worst pilots in Star Fleet.

Well, I understand now that x's idea was to have this all be on the holodeck, but at the time of his request, I didn't know what that was. So I had to improvise
