Description
Done for Conceptart.org's creature of the week, the topic being 'orange sea leviathan'. It's not the most original sea creature design out there but it was fun to draw anyway.Evergrin's are peculiar creatures that are named for their perpertual smile (guh). They dislike open air, but their (for lack of a better term) tentacles are useful for snatching things closer to the sea surface, such as whales coming up for air, boats, and low flying planes. Attacking manned vessels has created the myth of the giant squid, which, of course, is totally ridiculous.
Evergrin's have no eyes to speak of, but their sense of hearing is equal to none in all the world and they can imitate any sound within it to extreme accuracy. There was once an incident not so long ago where an Evergrin followed a passenger ship for miles until it finally veered off course, much to the relieved sighs of the passengers. Unknown to them, the creature had actually been following the sounds of an obnoxiously loud cd player spouting emo in one of the lower cabins. For years afterward, the approaching sound of 'you are the wind beneath my wings' meant impending doom for a ship or submarine.
Hope you dig

I sure wouldn't want to meet up with that thing D; I really love the colors. Not what I'd expect on a deep sea creature : D!
