Behold, Peter Lorre. The creepy little man who you have seen in almost every cartoon ever. These are just a few examples of the many faces of Peter Lorre....

"The Brave Little Toaster" (1987). Halfway through the film, it is obvious to most adults that whoever made this movie was smoking some good sh*t. But just in case anyone in the audience had any doubts as to how high the makers of this movie were, they introduced a lamp that talked like Peter Lorre.

"Hollywood Steps Out" (1941). The Peter Lorre cartoon is actually the LEAST creepy looking of the celebrity caricatures in this, at least from the clip I saw.

"Corpse Bride" (2005). Just from Maggot's expressions and movements, you can tell that Tim Burton--or whoever designed this character anyway--actually saw a few of PL's movies.

"Casablanca In 30 Seconds With Bunnies." A sad scene from the real movie is made hilarious when it has to play out in less than three seconds.

"Looney Tunes Back in Action" (2003). He appears for what must be one minute tops, but steals the entire scene with his expressions and cackles, exactly like the real PL would.

"The Simpsons (The Ship of Lost Souls)." Peter Lorre laments to Homer Simpson and their fellow shipmates about how he was banished from the car wash.

And finally...some Rankin Bass...Halloween...thing...I've never actually seen this. Someone in the Peter Lorre fan club here had it as their avatar for a while, and I thought it was cute. If I could see him hugging Rudolph I think the cuteness overload would kill me.

And now you know the truth...Peter Lorre is a shape shifter. And he is everywhere. He's in your closet right now. Plotting how to make his next cartoon cameo more creepy and random than the last.
