Description I wanted to make a scene that looked like a screen grab from TV. I think I managed to get the Original Series look.

Added some film grain, text, and a border in Photoshop. Everything else was done in trueSpace 6.6

Those two Fed captains must be shitting themselves right about now...lol.

Actually I like the set up here and I think you really captured what you were trying to achieve. The lighting in this scene is some of your best work, IMHO. Bravo.

This is definitely a scene where diplomacy will be key. Other than that, someone ain't going home!

As an old school Klin i'm not sure if even the Miranda Class can handle itself in this situation, naturally I'd go for the BoPs first then concentrate on the Drell 7. Alas, I am an old school Klingon.

Even then why the frig is a Miranda and a Saladin in contact with Klingons, being research vessels?

"Looks like somebodys a little lost." :3

Research and scout vessels would be on the fringe of known space. Not just the Cruisers that make up the Constitution class fleet. It could be a simple case of Federation explorers moving in to study a recently discovered system, then the Klingons saying, "We own this."

And, as ya might know us Klingons were never ones to shy away from research and exploration; much like in the USSR during the Cold War it was simply given less importance in the face of military matters.

Chances are the D7 and early B'rels (prototypes I guess, depending on era...I don't really count Enterprise in my canon I prefer FASA's background - Romulan design FTW) are also a scouting party, as both classes were very much multi role vessels.

Miranda's CO to other ship: 'I got the D-7. You'll have to handle the Birds on your own somewhat.'

LOL Yeah, no kidding! A D7 and a pair of warbirds? The Feds have little chance in this situation.
