~Chapter Ten~
The next day was Wednesday, which meant there was half a week of school left. Walter actually showed up at school, thankfully. I told him my idea, and he agreed to it. We stayed together the entire school day, and finally, when the very last bell rang, we ran outside and we began running to the Dark Side.
"Priscilla! Walter! Stop!" Someone yelled behind us.
We stopped and turned around. It was Addison.
"Oh, hey, Addison." I greeted her.
"What's up, Priscilla? Did I do something mean? Am I just not cool enough to hang out with anymore?"
"Um...Addison, what are you talking about?"
"You haven't been hanging out with me at ALL! You haven't called me back, and I sent you over thirteen voicemails and twenty texts! And at school, you're always with Walter, so I have to sit all by myself!"
"Oh my gosh, Addison, I'm so sorry! It's just that I've been so focused on trying to get my first kiss that I completely forgot about my BEST FRIEND! I'm so so sorry..." I apologized.
How could I have completely forgotten about Addison? I felt like such a bad friend.
"Well, Walter and I are going to the Dark Side, want to come join us?" I asked.
"Um, HECK NO! You and I are going to go shopping WITHOUT guys, okay? You owe me, since you forgot about me!" She told me.
I sighed, apologized to Walter, and told left with Addison. On our way to the mall, I texted Walter and asked him if we could try this date over again the next day. Addison and I bought a lot of clothes and make-up and everything and had a lot of fun, but the whole time I was thinking about Walter.
"Uh, Priscilla? Hello?" Addison asked me, waving her hands in front of my face.
"Oh, sorry, Addison, I was lost in thought." I apologized.
"So you didn't hear anything that I just said?"
"Uh, I heard most, just not the last part."
She sighed and told me again. This happened a couple times, which made me worried. Is Walter all I can think about now? I wondered if having my first kiss with him will make me come back to reality. I kept telling myself to listen to Addison, but it was pretty hard. At least she didn't get TOO mad at me. After we were done shopping, I promised her that I would hang out with her all day during school tomorrow and that I would be busy after school so I couldn't hang out with her afterwards. She was okay with it, though, which made me glad. The next day at school, I invited Addison to come and hang out with Walter and I, but she reminded me that it was just going to be me and her, and not with Walter. I sighed and told Walter to meet me at the Dark Side after school, and went to go hang out with Addison the rest of the school day. After school, I said goodbye to Addison and rushed over to the Dark Side.
"Hey, Priscilla," Walter said as I arrived.
"Hey, Walter, quick, let's go over here," I said pointing to a dark alleyway.
He nodded and followed me as I led the way. We ran quickly but quietly, making sure nobody saw us.
"Okay...here goes." He said.
We both slowly closed our eyes, and leaned in. Nothing could possibly interrupt us now. Or at least, I thought.
"STOP!" Nathan shouted from inside a dumpster.
I had forgotten that this was where Nathan and his friends ALWAYS hung out.
"What do you want, Nathan? I'm SICK of being interrupted over and over and over again!" I shouted.
"...I still kind of like you, Priscilla. Please..." Nathan didn't have to say anymore.
He already knew that I knew what he was going to beg again. I told him that I would not kiss him, and that I would only kiss Walter. I should've just kissed Walter at the hospital, because Nathan and his friends trapped us there in the alleyway for the rest of the day, making sure that we didn't kiss. A few times, Nathan attempted to kiss me, but I kept moving my head, and he eventually gave up.
"Why don't you like Addison instead, Nathan? She is a great girl. I'm sure you two would make an awesome couple." I told him.
"Me and her? Uh, no." Nathan said, shaking his head.
I rolled my eyes and told him everything great about her for hours. I guess I must've annoyed him a lot, because he finally agreed to having a date with her and let Walter and I go. Walter and I didn't have our first kiss that day either, which meant I only had one day left. The following day at school, when there was only one hour left, the teachers and staff members let all of the students in school do whatever they wanted. I talked with all my friends, especially Walter and Addison. I told Addison that she was going to have a date with Nathan, which mad her really excited. She ran up to Nathan and kissed him. Instead of pushing her away, though, Nathan kissed her back. I was glad that Addison had a date and her first kiss already, but now I had to get MY first kiss. But it had to be at the right place and time. I thought quickly, but then, I had the craziest idea ever. I ran up to the front office and into the Principal's office. I begged her to call everyone to the auditorium for a few minutes, because I had an announcement to make.
"Oh, alright, as long as it's appropriate though." She agreed.
"It is! I think..."
In just fifteen minutes, the entire school was inside the auditorium. The principal announced that I was going to make an important speech, and then called me up onto the stage. Everyone clapped as I made my way up the stage. I walked up to the microphone and took a deep breath.
"Hello, friends," I began. "I have had a long and exciting year here with all of you. I had a lot of fun making new friends and making new memories, but the biggest part of my school year was trying to get my first kiss."
Many laughed.
"I liked three guys, and they all liked me. It was sort of like a love...square, ha," I continued. "They were all great guys, and I couldn't decide which one I liked the most until near the end of the year. He and I have been dating for a short while now, but we still haven't kissed. I've been wanting to plenty of times, but we kept getting interrupted by the craziest of things. One time, some crazy dude stole my purse and he had to go chase after it and then got hit by a car! Then some guys trapped us in an alleyway near the Dark Side. The point is, I've tried many times to have my first kiss with this special guy before the school year is over. There are about ten minutes left of school, so if you guys don't mind, I'd like to have it now. Could Walter B. please come up here?"
Everyone cheered and clapped loudly as Walter made his way up the stage. Everything suddenly disappeared, and it seemed like he and I were all alone. We were the only ones here, and there was nothing that could interrupt us now. Nothing mattered except for each other. We closed our eyes and leaned in. The moment that our lips touched was magical. It was the best feeling in the world. We wrapped our arms around each then and kissed for a minute as everyone cheered for us. Afterwards, we looked into each other's eyes and smiled. I finally got my first kiss! I was the happiest girl in the entire world! Everyone continued to cheer, especially Addison and Nathan. The four of us spent the rest of our summer together and had a lot of fun. Bryce and his new girlfriends joined us sometimes when we went to amusement parks or the theater. We went to the beach and the pool most of the time and hung out almost every day. We even hung out when school began again. We all stayed friends no matter what happened, and had amazing times together, but the only times that I feel the happiest is when I kiss my boyfriend Walter.
