65 Ton Lament Battlemech from the Battletech Technical Readout 3145 Republic of the SphereΒ
Love the stats for this guy. Basically went with an unseen Warhammer meets classic Penetrator for aesthetics. Fun design. Hope you like it.Β

Great design! This was always one of my favorite mechs. Shame it never gained popularity with the community like the Atlas or MadCat. Β In all seriousness I believe this design is good enough to be in Mechwarrior Online.Β

Few years back when the meta still existed and MWO was still relevant as a game, the Lament would have been the perfect substitute/replacement for the triple Large Pulse Laser Thunderbolts (same tonnage, probably better hitboxes). But those days are sadly gone. If they ever make a mechwarrior game set beyond 3050 though, I expect this mech to be in it.

While there are a few exceptions (Vulture/Mad Dog, Timber Wolf/Mad Cat), Β I've always found the Battletech/Mechwarrior mechanical designs lacked enough aesthetics to be memorable in any way. Β But your work...I think you've touched upon something here. Β Your designs have all that bulky, ugly, tank-on-legs appearance that we've come to expect of the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe. Β However, you've added to the military hardware look of the mecha with refinement and flow that show your battlemech designs with a dramatic style and pleasing aesthetic. Β The angles are striking, the detail is great and the shape choices you make for each are daring and interesting. Β Very creative work.

I really like it but the 'You Lose' takes away from it; it doesn't curve in the same way the barrel it's written on.

Doubly so! Β Since I am a devout 3025 fan, It's not easy for me to admit! Β But I really love that design, and although a different artist, the Gunsmith. Β CGL has really stepped up the art since the old days. Β Just hope to see some focus on the Reunification War, Fall of the Star League and Succession Wars. Β
