Description
Alongside Kopaka, Pohatu gets the same sort of techno treatment, though he has more of an 80s spacey style than the Toa of Ice. While on the Red Star ship, he is equipped with a Reflector Shield to assume a defensive mode against the Kestora inside such an integral piece of hardware. Also yes, Kakama + Reflector = Fox
The weapon's build may be heresy but it took a lot of effort to figure out and I'm happy with it

I hope you continue this series of mocs.
I quite like the space idea.

Pretty good. Nice fx. Though I would have gone for his g1 Kakama personally, even if this is built using ccbs and the g2 one is essentially the same design. Pohatu's personality is just more permanently imprinted on the great Kakama/Kakama Nuva for me lol.

The new pohatu color palette is very striking yes and I actually do love the radioactive uranium look (one of the initial thongs that made me instantly enjoy the style of G2), I'm just being careful with the more limited eyepiece colors we have nowadays to represent the classic 2001-2003 Toa that these mocs are all based on
If anything I'm a sucker for accuracy :b

Definitely liking this pseudo-retro space aesthetic for all them. If there's one thing I love, it's retro space nonsense.

The actual physical ship models from Star Wars 4-6, the original Star Trek movies, Battlestar Galactica TOS, and even Spaceballs are all bae to me
I'm so happy the light grey fiddly fob pieces can so easily emulate those styles

It's honestly kinda scary how well it emulates that style lmao
Maybe it's cause part of that aesthetic was just "stick gray rods, circles, and blocks all over the hull" but hey

Not to mention his shield was directly based on the mothership at the end of Close Encounters of The Third Kind

The angularity is supposed to be remeniscent of Fox's Reflector, though all that light blue fiddly fob style with a tiny bit of red is what I mean about Close Encounters

Man, if only Lego used the adaptive armor to its full potential

The more forms I make of it, it seems more and more to me that the Adaptive Armor concept may have taken some roots in the concept of 'many toys' but it is a fact they never capitalized on it /:

I'd have rather seen different series of the Toa Nuva using the adaptive armor, instead of what we got for 2009-2010...no offense to those years but, they could've been waaaay better.

Awesome rendition. That shield is weird and cool and I love it.
I guess Pohatu is one of the trickiest to make look "spacey" just because of the colour scheme and all, but it works!
I think he'd look even better with some tan or brown cloak/cloth, idk. Jedi pohatu? XD
