I use sai for my icons, although this tutorial is compatible with any art program with a regular pen and binary/pixel tool!

i think its really cool that u mix binary and a normal pen to do your lineart
like ive never seen anyone else do that and your icons turn out so nice & original

thank u sm!! i was inspired by a lot of artists who make pixelart so detailed yet pleasing to the eye.
i then figured out my own way, an easier and quicker way, for me to draw them without the hassle of placing every pixel in the right spot!

how do you do the blurred outline tho- do you slightly blur a normal pixel outline or draw every pixel like that? ;0;

by leaving some parts of the lineart untouched by the binary eraser! so don't erase some of the lineart
also, color in some edges of the lineart a lighter color
ill probably host a icon stream so maybe u can join and see how I do it!
