Description Blade Material: Horseshoe Rasp
Blade Length: 6"
Handle Material: Stag

One of many custom order that I managed to finished before Christmas. I was so happy to finish this one as they had been wait....a lot time. >.< I absolutely hate hidden tangs though...and I hate stag. The smell kills me.

The blade is a lot smaller that I'm use to on a rasp. It's one of the draw backs when taking custom orders. A lot of times the imagine in their head is a lot different than what the knife would look like realistically. Normally when I forge out a rasp I can get it to about 2" wide. 6 inches by 2 inches really isn't a great looking knife, in my opinion. However! I think I pulled it off rather well and they seemed more than happy with the end result.

I'm nearly caught up on all my orders, so I'll be able to actually answer messages again. So if you sent one and haven't heard anything back, it's because I haven't left my shop in a while. But! I did take pictures of some of the orders I finished and I'll be showing them to you guys through out the week. And next month....I have awwwesome stuff that I will be able to show you. heh.

Have a great Christmas, everyone!

Looks great! I personally love the shorter and wider bowie knives. Stag is a nice touch!

magnifique! *o* i love the bowie knife^^
I always admire your work, how does the blade is made โ€‹โ€‹of? forging or removal?
you use a gas forge has? or coal?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Logan-Pearce In reply to hombre-nuevo [2012-12-25 23:30:40 +0000 UTC]

Forged. I use a gas forge, because it gets hot quicker and is easier to maintain. I like the coal for when I am just having fun forging, but when I am trying to fill orders and such, I use the gas one.

I see the gas seems so convenient^^ especially for a uniform temperature for tempering with coal is harder! but I really like the charcoal, is what I have always used and then it is very traditional^^

you will be a pro so I'd really appreciate your opinion about my works^^

and sorry for my bad anglish^^"
