A question: Is your Type 24 in safe condition to shoot? I'd like to try out one someday, but apparently the rifles are too worn to fire safely.

Also, the Type 24 was the main battle rifle of the Chinese Nationalists/KMT forces throughout the Second Sino-Japanese War, although several American-trained Chinese divisions were issued shortened M1917 Enfields for jungle fighting in Burma.

Sadly not; all my rifles are deactivated, so they are merely antiques in a manner of speaking!

I have a particular interest in the Second Sino-Japanese War, so collecting I'm always interested in collecting Chinese Rifles. I have also bought the older Hanyang Type 88 Rifle, after this picture was taken of course.

There was a type 2 para rifle for sale on Arundel militaria a couple of weeks ago. Would have fitted in here well! I don't have many rifles at the moment myself. Just a M1903 Springfield and a Type 38. I will get myself a type 99 one day. Great collection!

very nice, I am starting a collection, I could only dream of having this now, but I've a 91/30 so that will suit soviet reenacting

You can't go wrong with a Mosin: a simple and solid rifle that did it's job well, a great weapon indeed.

nice collection, man. I'm a bit of a collector myself, just bought a Chinese type 53 for 120$ very accurate, highly recommend it.

Thanks, Ah yes the Type 53 Mosin Carbine, used by Mao Zedong's Communist Forces. I have a full length Soviet Mosin, solid weapons are the Mosins and very simple to operate. You just need a Chiang Kai Shek Mauser and you've got the two weapons of both sides of the Chinese Civil War

A 91-30? so do I! I also went down to buy another one and they had M-38s for 90 bucks Ha, I just had to pick one up. yeah, I think the elegant simplicity and robustness of the Mosin is what draws me to it. XD
Chiang Kai Shek Mauser, huh? how much do those usually go for?

yeah the 91/30s are great. Although being a WW2 Japanese army Reenactor I like the Arisaka rifles, they are also very simple to manage.

The Chiang Kai Shek rifles are basically a Chinese copy of the German Mauser K98, and were used by the Chinese Nationalists. I have one in my collection, it's the 5th one from the top, they are relatively cheap, I got mine for about £160 or so. I'm not sure of the currency difference but I'm guessing that would roughly be about $200 maybe a bit more.
