Welcome to Dragon Ball .

We are in the planet of the kais, Kibito approaches Shin, letting him know Babidi was located on Earth, alongside the king of the demon realm, Dabura, and possibly some minions, Shin is happy to finally locate the wizard, but claim they must not be hasty, the fate of the universe hangs in the balance. Kibito says that's why they must attack now, but Shin is not convinced, on the contrary, they need help, fortunately they have months before Babidi can free it, and it's quite auspicious Babidi went to Earth, as Earth might house the Kais' last hope against the Majin.

(Cue We Gotta Power)

We then cut to Goku's house, where both Shin and Kibito knock on the door, Chi-Chi opens and after a little shock Shin apologizes for coming without an invitation, but it's imperative that they find the mighty warrior who lives here. Chi-Chi simply says he's training right now, that's when we see Gohan meditating close to a waterfall in a purple gi with orange belt. Shin teleports in front of him, Gohan wasn't surprised, he had already sensed their ki, Shin is somewhat agitated/worried, he informs Gohan they need his help, as the whole universe might be in danger, but then stops and apologizes "where are my manners? I'm Kaioshin, it's an honor to meet the mighty warrior who defeated Frieza, it's an honor, Son Goku".

Gohan smiles, as carefree as ever and responds "Son Goku was my father, but he is no longer among us, call me Gohan" [in a similar "Ora Goku" we all love]. Kibito angrily interjects "watch your manners, mortal". Shin defuses Kibito, saying it's fine. Kibito question Shin's plan, the mortal Shin hoped could help is not even alive anymore, these beings are far too weak to help in the affairs of the gods, tired of the endless discussion, Gohan politely interrupted, claiming he is not Goku, but he can help, which Kibito scoffs "You? What can you possibly do?"

Gohan turn ssj2, to the surprise of Kibito, who claimed: "impossible, no mortal is this powerful", and satisfaction of Shin, who is very pleased and asks Gohan to join them, Gohan agrees, but only if his pupil gets to join, he explains Trunks is almost as strong as him and is currently at Capsule Corp. The three teleport there thanks to Shin's ability, Gohan remarks his father had a similar technique, but this one is clearly superior, to which Shin responds that if everything works out, he will teach Gohan the technique. They explain everything so far to Trunks (and Gohan), about Babidi, Majin Buu, Dabura and that they plan to prepare them on their planet, he is reluctant to leave his mom alone, since another threat might come up, but Bulma and Gohan tranquilize the boy, Gohan even saying he will learn Shin's teleportation technique as soon as possible, besides 16 is on the planet, he can manage.

With everything agreed on, Shin teleports them to the planet of the kais, to the dismay of Kibito. Once they arrive there, Kibito tells the saiyans that the clothes they are wearing aren’t suitable for such sacred land, and he transforms their clothes to ones that resemble those of the Supreme Kai. With that out of the way, Shin shows them the Z sword.

Supreme Kai
“This is the legendary Z Sword, it is said that whoever holds it will gain unbelievable power, I’m sure it is more than enough to kill Majin Buu. Unfortunately, many years have passed and no one was able to remove it from this mountain. But if you are a worthy warrior, I’m sure you will be able to. Gohan, I’d like you to try to remove it”.

Gohan
“Me?”

Kibito
“What? Supreme Kai, it’s already bad enough to bring mortals to our holy land, but to let them try to pick up the Z Sword, it’s…”

Supreme Kai
“Kibito, be silent for a moment. Gohan, if you please.”

Gohan approaches the Z Sword.

Gohan
“So, I just need to pull it out, huh...? Sounds like something I've read before.”

    Gohan fails at first, as it is too heavy.

Kibito
“See? It's impossible for a mortal to…"

To which Gohan turns ssj2 and easily picks the sword up, everyone is shocked, except for Trunks, Trunks simply smirks, as if he just knew Gohan could do it. Shin is amazed, they must start training as soon as possible.

A couple of months goes by, to which each deity took on a "apprentice" more or less, Shin took Gohan as an apprentice teaching him the Kai Kai (teleportation technique) and how to wield the Z sword, Kibito then took Trunks teaching him, mainly, his healing techniques.

Gohan (to Trunks)
“It’s wonderful that you learned this healing technique, Trunks. It will be quite useful since we no longer have the senzu beans”.

Trunks
“Thanks, Master Gohan. But the truth is that I still can’t use it at will multiple times. I’m still learning how to use it, it’s quite difficult. Maybe it's due to our physiology as I’m not a deity like Kibito, maybe being a mortal limits the technique".

Trunks seems apprehensive and expresses this to Gohan, claiming they have faced so many threats recently, and this one threatens to be their greatest yet, this Majin Buu could potentially destroy the universe. Gohan agrees and after pondering on the matter a little, he has an idea, he turns and says.

Gohan
"Kaioshin Sama, have you ever heard of a race called Namekians?”

Supreme Kai
“Oh, yes, now that you’ve mentioned, I did. I know about every race in this universe, as it is my job to do''.

Gohan
“Great. They moved to a new planet many years ago, do you happen to know where it is? Could you point me to their location?”

Shin is a little confused by the request, but does it anyway.

Supreme Kai
“Lock it in that direction”.

Gohan thanks him, he takes a few seconds to find it.

Gohan
“Got it, be back soon. Kai Kai”.

Gohan teleported himself to the new planet Namek, which caused the locals to hide in fear. Gohan tries to calm them down, he explains he is Gohan, the little kid that helped them many years ago, the son of Son Goku, who killed Frieza.

After some initial reluctance due to the namekians not immediately recognizing him, it all changed when some of the namekians started to remember him. Everybody started cheering and greeting him, eventually their leader and Dende arrived, Gohan hugged both of them and apologized for taking so long to visit, truth is nobody knew the location of their planet before, and that he was sorry, but he had something to ask. Gohan asked if Dende could be the new guardian/Kami of Earth. Dende and the leader were happy to help and agreed with Gohan’s request, he teleported Dende to the lookout and Dende, with the help of Mr. Popo, created a new set of dragon balls. Gohan is relieved, now with the dragon balls once again they can call Shenron if the situation demands it.

Gohan was ready to leave when he sensed a lot of destruction going on, it was Dabura wrecking havoc, Gohan teleported to the demon's location, Gohan was furious, asking him how could he be destroying cities and killing people, Gohan tells Dabura he will end his life right there. Dabura scoffed and both started to fight. Unbeknownst to Gohan, that was exactly Babidi's plan to draw energy from the fight to hatch Majin Buu's egg. Shin sensed what was happening, but when they were ready to leave, all of Babidi's minions appeared out of portals, one of them handed Shin a crystal ball to which Babidi started to communicate through. Babidi told Shin he knew everything from the beginning, thanking him for training the mortals, as as they were before, they'd probably be too weak to wake Majin Buu, but he now has no use for them outside of the kid fighting Dabura, and ordered the minions to attack.

Gohan was holding his own against Dabura, they seemed to be matched in power, even in ssj2 [just like the androids were stronger in this future timeline, so is Dabura, pretty much everyone is xD]. Gohan noticed the Z sword was taking some damage, he didn't know, but Dabura was wearing katchin gauntlets, and the continuous impacts ended up breaking the sword. Gohan was speechless, Dabura with an evil grim said it was over. That's when they noticed an old man yelling, Gohan found odd that the old man was wearing Kai clothes. Dabura being impatient ordered the old man to die and released a powerful ki attack, Gohan protected the old man but took some serious damage, he was forced to teleport back to the realm of the kais alongside the old man. Fortunately Trunks, Kibito and the Supreme Ka defeated Babidi's forces and were on their way to Earth when Gohan appeared. Dabura telepathically asked Babidi if he should pursue them, Babidi saw no need and commanded the demon to return, when asked why, he said Majin Buu's egg is hatching.

On the realm of the kais, the old man explained he is a Kai that was trapped on the Z Sword, he is the Rou Dai Kaioshin. Trunks didn't quite understand what was going on, but claims now they have enough power to destroy Babidi, that’s what they trained for, to which the elder Kai scolds the young Saiyan.

Old Kai
"Neither of you are ready for this, you are strong, but you need to get stronger. I know, I'll unleash your hidden potential, but since it takes too much time, I'll pick one of you… let me see… you (pointing to Gohan), you saved me, so I'll unleash your hidden power".

Since their clothes are damaged, Kibito restores Gohan and Trunks’ clothes back to the gis they were using prior to their training. And then Old Kai started the ritual on Gohan.

Trunks, Kibito and Shin decide to go to Earth and try to stop Babidi and gain some time to Gohan, they bid them farewell and Shin teleports them.

Gohan
“So, how long does the ritual take?”

Old Kai
“Hmm… about 24 hours”.

Gohan
“TWENTY-FOUR HOURS?!?!”.

Old Kai
“Hey, be patient. It will be worth it”.
[little comedy scene].

They arrive in the desert, at Babidi’s ship, where Dabura is waiting for them, the demon tells them they won’t go any further. The three engage in a fight with Dabura and they end up managing to defeat him. That’s when the door of the ship opens, and from it, comes Babidi and Majin Buu.

Supreme Kai
“We are too late”.

Majin Buu proves to be a difficult opponent, easily overpowering Trunks, Kibito and the Supreme Kai, leaving them at the brink of death. The Old Kai and Gohan were watching the whole thing through a crystal ball. Gohan fears that his friends will be killed by Majin Buu and stands up, interrupting the ritual.

Gohan
“I’m sorry, Old Kai, but I need to save them, I can’t stand here”.

Old Kai
"WAIT!”.

the old man ponders a little.

Old Kai
“Though we have begun the ritual, there is still too much to be done, you can’t defeat Majin Buu like that. But there may be a way. It’s called fusion, you will fuse your body with another warrior, creating an entirely new warrior, with abilities you have never dreamed of. I’m sure it will be able to defeat Majin Buu. Take my earrings, place one on your right ear and the other on that little kid’s left ear, I’m sure the fusion between you two will be ridiculously powerful. Be quick, the fusion only lasts for one hour”.

Gohan (takes the earrings)
“Thank you, Old Kai”.

Old Kai
“One last piece of advice, just like you can fuse, Majin Buu can absorb other people, making him possibly as powerful. Don’t let him absorb anyone”.

Gohan (nods)
“Got it. Kai Kai”.

Back on Earth, the three warriors are all on the ground. Babidi maniacally laughs.

Babidi
“I’ll finally have my revenge against you, Supreme Kai. For killing my father, you will pay. Majin Buu, kill them!”

Majin Buu was about to fire at them, when he was sucker kicked by Gohan, flying away. Kibito takes advantage of this and heals Trunks a little. Gohan appears in front of them, he tells Trunks they need to fuse, he can’t explain right now, just put this earring on your left ear. Trunks is confused but does what Gohan tells him.

Majin Buu appears, ready to kill everyone, but is once again blown away by a whirlwind caused by the fusion, out of it, a new warrior emerges.

Majin Buu
“What just happened?!”

???
“YOSHA!!! Since I'm the fusion of Gohan and Trunks, I guess that makes me Gotrunks".

Majin Buu
"Hmph... Impressive..."

Gotrunks
“Come at me”.

Majin Buu is furious, he attacks Gotrunks, but is easily blocked. It begins a one-sided fight where Gotrunks easily overpowers Majin Buu. Top of all that, in his tremendous arrogance, the warrior starts to taunt the Majin.

Gotrunks
"I wish you'd take this seriously".

Majin Buu
“Do not mock me!”

Majin Buu fires a ki blast at Gotrunks, who easily kicks it back at Buu.

Gotrunks
“I'm just getting started”.

Gotrunks keeps overpowering Buu. Buu is desperate, he doesn’t have many options, that's when he sees that Dabura is still alive (albeit, still on the ground) and that Babidi is close to him. He manages to get Gotrunks to kick him in their direction, getting close to them, Majin Buu launches gum like pieces of himself at them and at the kais, Gotrunks manages to destroy the pieces aimed at the kais, but not the ones aimed at Dabura and Babidi. Majin Buu absorbs Dabura and Babidi, gaining a new, more powerful form.

The Old Kai is screaming at the crystal ball in the land of the kais, “those idiots, I told him to not let Majin Buu absorb anyone”.

Majin Buu is full of confidence now, but Gotrunks is not fazed by it.
Gotrunks
“You are still nothing compared to me, Buu. Be ready to meet… the Super Gotrunks!”.

Gotrunks transforms in SSJ.

Majin Buu tries to use magical abilities like transforming Gotrunks into a coffee-flavored jawbreaker, to which Gotrunks keeps fighting (and winning). Majin Buu is quickly exhausted by the warrior.

Gotrunks
“I’m done with you, Majin Buu. I saw you fighting Trunks, you sure are a talented warrior. Even managed to quickly adapt and use the same techniques upon only seeing once. A mark of a true warrior. But here is where everything ends, I’ll reduce you to nothing”.

Gotrunks charges and fires a Galick Kamehameha. Majin Buu tries to hold it with a similar attack, but to no avail, the attack engulf Majin Buu’s attack and it’s starting to disintegrate the Majin.

Gotrunks (in what seems to be Gohan’s side taking over again)
“I’m not sure if you can hear me, but I must confess, I’m really frustrated that I couldn’t defeat you on my own. But I can’t risk the fate of the planet on this. I hope you're reborn as someone good this time... I wanna fight you one-on-one... I'll be waiting for you... And I'm gonna keep getting stronger...Later!"

Gotrunks’ attack obliterates Majin Buu to nothing. As soon as it is over, the fusion runs out and Trunks and Gohan get back to being two separate beings.

[which might explain why Gotrunks was speaking like he was Gohan, since the fusion was running out].

Trunks heals Kibito and they both heal the Supreme Kai back to health.

Trunks
“It’s over, master Gohan”.

Gohan (smiles)
“Yes, Trunks. We did it! Though… I’m kinda disappointed I didn’t get to test my new powers”.

That’s when they are interrupted by a voice, is the Old Kai, he is furious, scolding Gohan.

Old Kai
“I told you the ritual isn’t complete, now get back here so we can finish it”.

Gohan
“Uh, really? But Old Kai, I spent an eternity sitting there, you even slept”.

Old Kai (yells)
“I’ve already told you, I wasn’t sleeping! You know what, forget it, I’m not gonna do it anymore”.

Gohan (begging)
“I’m sorry, Old Kai, I didn’t mean to. I’ll do anything, please continue the ritual. I have to get stronger, Old Kai? Old Kai?!”.

The ending theme goes up, as we then close on Trunks smiling.

(Cue We Were Angels).

Old Kai
“One last piece of advice, just like you can fuse, Majin Buu can absorb other people, making him possibly as powerful. Don’t let him absorb anyone”.

Gohan (nods)
“Got it. Kai Kai”.

Back on Earth, the three warriors are all on the ground. Babidi maniacally laughs.

Babidi
“I’ll finally have my revenge against you, Supreme Kai. For killing my father, you will pay. Majin Buu, kill them!”

Majin Buu was about to fire at them, when he was sucker kicked by Gohan, flying away. Kibito takes advantage of this and heals Trunks a little. Gohan appears in front of them, he tells Trunks they need to fuse, he can’t explain right now, just put this earring on your left ear. Trunks is confused but does what Gohan tells him.

Majin Buu appears, ready to kill everyone, but is once again blown away by a whirlwind caused by the fusion, out of it, a new warrior emerges.

Majin Buu
“What just happened?!”

???
“YOSHA!!! Since I'm the fusion of Gohan and Trunks, I guess that makes me Gotrunks".

Majin Buu
"Hmph... Impressive..."

Gotrunks
“Come at me”.

Majin Buu is furious, he attacks Gotrunks, but is easily blocked. It begins a one-sided fight where Gotrunks easily overpowers Majin Buu. Top of all that, in his tremendous arrogance, the warrior starts to taunt the Majin.

Gotrunks
"I wish you'd take this seriously".

Majin Buu
“Do not mock me!”

Majin Buu fires a ki blast at Gotrunks, who easily kicks it back at Buu.

Gotrunks
“I'm just getting started”.

Gotrunks keeps overpowering Buu. Buu is desperate, he doesn’t have many options, that's when he sees that Dabura is still alive (albeit, still on the ground) and that Babidi is close to him. He manages to get Gotrunks to kick him in their direction, getting close to them, Majin Buu launches gum like pieces of himself at them and at the kais, Gotrunks manages to destroy the pieces aimed at the kais, but not the ones aimed at Dabura and Babidi. Majin Buu absorbs Dabura and Babidi, gaining a new, more powerful form.

The Old Kai is screaming at the crystal ball in the land of the kais, “those idiots, I told him to not let Majin Buu absorb anyone”.

Majin Buu is full of confidence now, but Gotrunks is not fazed by it.
Gotrunks
“You are still nothing compared to me, Buu. Be ready to meet… the Super Gotrunks!”.

Gotrunks transforms in SSJ.

Majin Buu tries to use magical abilities like transforming Gotrunks into a coffee-flavored jawbreaker, to which Gotrunks keeps fighting (and winning). Majin Buu is quickly exhausted by the warrior.

Gotrunks
“I’m done with you, Majin Buu. I saw you fighting Trunks, you sure are a talented warrior. Even managed to quickly adapt and use the same techniques upon only seeing once. A mark of a true warrior. But here is where everything ends, I’ll reduce you to nothing”.

Gotrunks charges and fires a Galick Kamehameha. Majin Buu tries to hold it with a similar attack, but to no avail, the attack engulf Majin Buu’s attack and it’s starting to disintegrate the Majin.

Gotrunks (in what seems to be Gohan’s side taking over again)
“I’m not sure if you can hear me, but I must confess, I’m really frustrated that I couldn’t defeat you on my own. But I can’t risk the fate of the planet on this. I hope you're reborn as someone good this time... I wanna fight you one-on-one... I'll be waiting for you... And I'm gonna keep getting stronger...Later!"

Gotrunks’ attack obliterates Majin Buu to nothing. As soon as it is over, the fusion runs out and Trunks and Gohan get back to being two separate beings.

[which might explain why Gotrunks was speaking like he was Gohan, since the fusion was running out].

Trunks heals Kibito and they both heal the Supreme Kai back to health.

Trunks
“It’s over, master Gohan”.

Gohan (smiles)
“Yes, Trunks. We did it! Though… I’m kinda disappointed I didn’t get to test my new powers”.

That’s when they are interrupted by a voice, is the Old Kai, he is furious, scolding Gohan.

Old Kai
“I told you the ritual isn’t complete, now get back here so we can finish it”.

Gohan
“Uh, really? But Old Kai, I spent an eternity sitting there, you even slept”.

Old Kai (yells)
“I’ve already told you, I wasn’t sleeping! You know what, forget it, I’m not gonna do it anymore”.

Gohan (begging)
“I’m sorry, Old Kai, I didn’t mean to. I’ll do anything, please continue the ritual. I have to get stronger, Old Kai? Old Kai?!”.

The ending theme goes up, as we then close on Trunks smiling.

(Cue We Were Angels).
