I recently watched Akira for the first time when I got the 25th anniversary edition blu-ray and watched it on my PS3. I got it for my 18th birthday and I loved it ever since. I love how fluent the animation is and how influential it was among the history of anime and even science fiction. I heard this also influenced The Matrix series as well.

Here's a little fun fact too, while the movie was currently in production, the manga wasen't even finished yet. Also I heard that the mangas are over a 2000 or more pages long. How many volumes are there? And where can I buy them? Amazon? Barnes & Nobles? Cuz I'm actually interested in it now just like with Inuyasha.
