Description
A third (and final) illustration from the captive project. this one is based on the final scene of disney's 'snow white'. first one here - [link] - and second one here - [link] .Copy/paste of description from last deviation:
Here's what I worked on for most of October/November - animation sequences for Bearkatt Productions , who made a Channel 4 (U.K) documentary about Tanya Kach's life (warning: the documentary deals with very shocking subject matter). 14-year-old Tanya Kach was held captive by an older man, phsyically as well as emotionally, for 10 years of her life - a truly heartbreaking story. The animations were intended to illustrate her emotions when she met her captor at a young age. She rationalized the situation by believing that she was in love and had found someone to take care of her for the rest of her life, something she longed for as a result of not feeling loved or wanted anywhere else. Of course, this was far from the truth.
The animation sequences are basically romantic fairy tale scenes with a 'dark' edge, showing a princess falling in love with her prince. They were edited into the interviews that were conducted with Tanya. What you see above is some artwork which was integrated into the final sequences, to which my awesome boyfriend Arjen Klaverstijn contributed animation and effects.

Really beautiful glow effect in that sunset/castle. you're very good about putting a lot of character into your architecture.

amazing colours and great piece! love the detail and tones of clouds, the landscape and trees are nicely projected
i did see the documentory before this piece and i believe u portrayed it just as it was in her mind, that she thought she met her prince and she was going to some 'kingdom' where he'd care for her all her life
it is very heartbreaking and horrible but i hope this teaches kids to be wiser in their life choices, theres no kingdom in the 21st century

perhaps, i think the documentary is more important in teaching those around the kids - parents, teachers, caretakers - to be more sensitive towards young girls like tanya and actually be there for them so that they don't feel the need to turn to a man like tom!

I'll leave a comment on this item in the sequence; I really like the formation of the narrative through the images, it's very strongly conveyed, and the dark undertones are well woven into the images.
