i was stuck in a gigantic rut today and felt like drawing some realism to get out of it. i always end up doing self-portraits when i get that urge though, because i prefer doing realism from life than from photos! for me it's more challenging to get colors/forms down that way. also in all my other self portraits i never get my face right. so yet again... for the hundredth time... a self portrait.haha it's creepy... i never realized how much i looked like my mom until i saw the thumbnail for this :b

To save time and words, I'll just list what I like/don't like about the pic.
*The bottom left corner of the mirror looks a bit too angled. Looks a little disproportionate.
*Her eyes look different from each other. Her left eye seems more filled in that her right. Need a pupil in there I think.
What I like:
*The shading was nicely done.
*You did a good job with the portrayal of the messy hair.
*I like the texture and shadow-play of the wood.
*The folds of the clothing are nice as well. Really like how the jacket came out.
*Nice expression
*Nice use of the red skin tones
It's a very nice portrait. Contemplative and very direct in its expression.

I don't know if you realize this, but the people you draw look very much like yourself. The noses, the mouths, the eyes.

haha bedankt! spiegel is zo geworden voornameljk door textures te gebruiken... en ook om een brush te gebruiken die niet al té airbrushy is, dus niet te zacht, want daardoor krijg je vaak een té digitale look.
