i was stuck in a gigantic rut today and felt like drawing some realism to get out of it. i always end up doing self-portraits when i get that urge though, because i prefer doing realism from life than from photos! for me it's more challenging to get colors/forms down that way. also in all my other self portraits i never get my face right. so yet again... for the hundredth time... a self portrait.haha it's creepy... i never realized how much i looked like my mom until i saw the thumbnail for this :b

You're so pretty! I love your self portraits. They seem to just get better and better. This one is just so sweet. I love how soft and warm it looks. It makes me wonder if there's a huge window in your room and the sun was just setting making the room light up with an orange/yellow tint. I think the light of a setting sun can really compliment a person's facial features and I especially like how it makes hair glow.

Wow, i thought the dresser here was actually a phot, and you'd just painted yoursef inside... And from far away, the whole thing looks like a photo. The tines look perfect for skin. And I love the painty style you've shaded it in.

I always find myself staring when ya submit something new, especially when it's a self portrait for some reason... it's very interesting to see how you put down shapes and how you give everything a very painterly feel, and how you manage to work with the odd color tones which have become a signature for ya by now

I love the sad and distracted moodiness of the piece. It conveys a thoughtfulness and contemplation that many self-portraits lack. It's an excellent example of realism. You look drawn and tired, but there is strength in the eyes.
I'm really impressed more than words can say. You've grown so much as an artist, you REALLY kick ass now!
