Weeks turned into months and unintentionally you find yourself waiting for the day when Coulson decides you suck and kicks you off the team.
Surprisingly, it hasn't happened yet. Instead, you develop feelings for the agent. You brush it off, thinking you're being totally unprofessional and ridiculous. But the more you see him, the stronger they become. Not to mention, did you really imagine that tension in the meeting you had with him? You begin to think he might share feelings for you as well. This is something you totally wouldn't believe except Jemma and Skye seem convinced and every time Coulson leaves the room they turn to you with giddy smiles.
You brush it off at first, but then Coulson starts to do little things, like handing you coffee or smiling at you.
It's one such more morning when all of it comes to a head. You're with Coulson and you're minding your own business, trying not to seem affected by him even though every nerve in your body is aware of him next you. You're reviewing a report before the morning meeting. You'd had a late night and didn't have the chance until this morning. You keep it lowered, hoping Coulson won't notice. You can't help but see that he pulls out two coffee mugs instead of one. You focus on the words in front of you, jumping when Coulson says your name. You wipe any guilty expression from your face before he sees.
"Yes, Sir?"
Coulson starts to pour cream in the coffee. "I'd like to take you out."
"Um...I....Sorry?"
Coulson glances at you and you swear he's smirking. "As a supervisor, of course."
"I-I would love to," you manage.
"Great. See you in the meeting." He hands you a mug and you watch him leave, your jaw hanging. He shuts the door without another word. You lift your mug to take a sip of the coffee, when something catches your eye. The cream in your coffee is shaped into a heart. You glance up at the door, half expecting Coulson to reappear. But he doesn't and needless to say, you were completely unprepared for that meeting.
