Description
You take a deep breath. The SHIELD plane looms in front of you, almost mockingly. You're a scientist, not an agent. Sometimes you wonder what on earth you were thinking when you accepted this assignment. You shake off your unease and step onto the ramp. A beautiful red car is in the entrance and you can't help but stop to admire it. You lean closer to peer inside when a voice makes you jump.
"Hi! You must be (y/n)? Sorry to startle you. I'm Jemma. And that's Lola," a perky British woman holds out her hand to you, smiling pleasantly.
You shake her hand uncertainly. She's very bubbly, but it calms you a little.
"She's very pretty," you gesture to the car. Jemma nods.
"Phil's beauty," she murmurs. Then she waves, moving toward the interior of the plane. "Come meet the crew!"
You follow her nervously. You had heard a lot about this Phil Coulson and he seems to be someone you have to impress.
You enter a nice briefing room. Several people are seated around a long table. You quickly learn their names- Fitz, a Scottish scientist who seems very excited to work with you- Skye, a sweet agent- Ward, who seems tough but welcomes you to the team- and May, an agent who doesn't seem to give a damn if you're there or not. You like everyone well enough, but are surprised to not see Phil Coulson.
Agent May nods to a door. "Coulson is waiting for you in his office."
You nod, rubbing your suddenly sweaty palms against your pant suit.
You head to the door, knocking. You hear "Come in," and you tentatively step inside, closing the door behind you.
