I shift on the bed, waking up slightly as I move. I sense someone awake. I peer over my shoulder, blinking to clear the sleep out of my eyes. Sure enough, (y/n) is sitting up in bed, her knees pulled to her chest under the blanket, her arms wrapped around them tightly. She's beautiful, even with her hair all messy, especially with her hair all messy, and she looks like she's listening intently for something.
"Babe?" I say, lifting myself up onto my arm. She jumps at my voice and looks frantically at the door. Then she looks at me.
"Shh..." she says quietly. I roll my eyes and sigh. I know what this is about.
"Steve isn't going to care, doll," I murmur, falling back against the bed.
Her eyes widen. "But...what will he think of me?" she whispers.
I try hard to suppress a groan. I'll never understand why she's worried. It's a little....inappropriate for her to be sleeping over, but she's got it in her head that Steve will think she's a terrible person. Perhaps it's because they love each other like siblings....
I try to understand and soothe her, despite the fact I really just want to take her in my arms and fall asleep again. I reach my hand out rub her lower back, which usually makes her feel better. "Baby, Steve loves you. Besides, I'm sure he already knows."
"Oh no..." she mumbles. "I've been so careful."
"Okay...." out with it. "I didn't want to tell you this, but he and I talked about it."
"What?!" she gasps, forgetting to be quiet.
"I don't hide a lot from Steve and I thought since this is his apartment too, I should make sure he was okay with it. So, I asked him," I shrug.
"And....?" she asks. Her hopeful look is so cute.
"And he said he was and that he hoped we were very happy," I smile smugly. I really should have told her sooner, but I was worried how she would react.
"Oh, Bucky!" she sighs. Then she starts laughing. "Thank you," she meets my eyes and grins.
"And she smiles!" I tease.
She playfully whacks my arm and I grab it before she can pull away, tugging her down onto the bed. She giggles again, this adorable sound, and snuggles against me. I never thought it would feel so perfect to have someone lying next to you. I kiss her forehead and she kisses my bare shoulder, sending warmth through my chest.
"Mmmm..." I murmur, wrapping my arm tighter around her. "I don't know what I would do if I didn't get these mornings with you," I admit.
She lays her head against my chest and I feel her steady breathing. "Me either," she replies.
