I wake up before the rest of the group to start my morning meditation. It's getting harder and harder to do, since (y/n) is only down the hall. I manage, however, trying to concentrate. If I was honest with myself, if I knew for sure she felt the same way I do, then nothing would stop me from running right over there. But, despite my pride in self-awareness, this is something I can't seem to face. Perhaps I'm afraid of the answer. Either way, it's not like me to be so indecisive and it's frustrating. I have added a longer session of meditation in the morning, to help me stay on track and focus. With this in mind, I go out to the terrace, sitting in a relaxing pose. I am about twenty minutes through, maybe longer since I lose track when I meditate, when I hear a noise and snap out of it. I look behind me and my eyes widen. (y/n) is standing there, looking quite pretty in her matching pjs. She looks hesitant and apologetic.
"I'm sorry, Danny, I didn't mean to interrupt," she says softly. I shiver when she says my name and close my eyes to hide it.
She seems to take that as a sign of irritation. "I'm, uh- I'll just....go."
I snap my eyes open, standing up quickly. "Wait!" I call a little too loudly. She turns back in surprise.
"Sorry, I mean. You aren't bothering me. Would you....would you like to join me?" I ask. Then I mentally slap myself. If I meditate with her, I'll never be able to concentrate.
"Sure," she smiles, stepping over. I sit down, already regretting my offer when her wonderful scent reaches my nose.
We are about two minutes in before I give up. "Okay. Um...."
She opens her eyes, looking at me quizzically. I hurry to explain.
"I like you," I blurt, which WAS NOT what I was supposed to say.
She blushes and my heart beats a little faster. "I do too," she smiles. I think I could have fought a hundred dragons in that moment.
