You wake, looking to your left. Pietro is still sleeping peacefully. You can creep out before his parents even know. You very slowly push the covers back, careful to be as quiet as possible. You quickly grab your clothes and are just about to head to the bathroom when your hair whips up into a sort of wind. Then you ram into an object that was not there before. Pietro. "Gee, do you have to do that?" you ask exasperatedly.
Pietro doesn't acknowledge you, just crosses his arms over his chest and gives you a look. "I was gonna say goodbye," you mumble.
"Uh huh." Pietro grunts. "Like the last five times? I'm fast, but you're out of here like lightening."
You furrow your brow. "Look, I have to leave before your parents see me," you say, trying to brush past him. He reaches out and holds you back before you can even blink. " I told you to stop, Pietro," you say angrily. He still doesn't let go.
"What is it?" he asks.
"What do you mean?" you sigh.
"C'mon babe, we both know this isn't about my parents. Why don't you want to wake up with me?"
"I don't want to talk about this now."
"Well, too bad. I'm not letting you go until you do," he says.
Your shoulders slump. You look up into his eyes and tears well up in your own. "I'm scared," you whisper.
"Scared?" Pietro frowns. "Scared of what?"
"Of us," you admit. Pietro finally lets you go, his arms falling limp to his sides.
"Why would you be scared of us? Is it me?" Pietro asks.
You shake your head. "No, not you. Definitely not you. I'm just....I've never had something this real before. I'm scared..." you sigh, "I'm scared you'll break my heart."
Pietro grips your arms again, lowering himself to eye level with you. "You're silly, you know that?"
"Gee, thanks. That makes me feel better," you say sarcastically. Pietro just laughs.
"I would never hurt you," he says seriously.
"I know." You try to smile.
Pietro leans forward and kisses you, a slow, sweet kiss. You tangle your fingers into his hair and before you know it you're both back in bed, cuddled next to each other. For once, you don't mind him using his super speed.
