Description A/N:  This isn’t supposed to be romantic.  I’m not sure anything with Kilgrave should be, as he’s an absolutely evil person.  However, I found his character very intriguing and wanted to try a one-shot with him.

It was a typical day for me.  Nothing out of the ordinary happening.  No annoying customers, no messy tables, no crying children.  Just an easy day at the diner.  Until….he came.  While it seemed as though nothing fantastical did happen, I could feel it.  I knew.  And maybe some of my co-workers did too.  But to this day no one has spoken about it.  About HIM.

It was a slow afternoon and I had been working back and forth as hostess and waitress.  I remember the exact moment I saw him.  He wore a deep purple suit, his brown hair swept to the side. Two ladies, both blonde and dressed much too nicely for the diner, trailed behind him.  He carried a smirk on his face and his brown eyes seemed constantly amused and aware.  When he saw me his smile faded a little, not in disappointment, but in surprise.
“Why, hello there,”  he spoke smoothly, his smirk quickly returning.  “I’d like a table in your….”  here he peered around in slight distaste, “…establishment.”
I immediately noticed his British accent.  While alarmed by his snobbish attitude, I was surprised to feel butterflies in my stomach.  He had a certain charm I at first found appealing.
“Of course,”  I flashed him my best smile.  “Booth or table?”
“Table,” he said, as though it were obvious.
I nodded, grabbing three menus.  I started to walk toward an empty table when his voice stopped me.  Literally.
“Stop,” he purred.  “Take another menu.  You’ll be joining me for dinner.”
And I did.  I turned around and grabbed another menu, much to my confusion.
When we reached the table, I placed the menus and hesitated.
He sat, blonde lady on either side of him.  He looked up at me still standing there and gestured for me to sit.  “Sit.”  And I did.
A few moments of silence went by before a waiter came to check on us.  He looked at me strangely, but the man told him not to say anything and he didn’t.  He retrieved our order and left.  The man leaned back in his chair and folded his hands on the table, studying me.  He had not paid the slightest attention to the blondes sitting with us.
“You’re awful quiet,”  he observed.
In truth, I was still trying to figure out why I was sitting and not working.  “I should get back to work…”
“Forget work,”  the man waved his hand.  And as if he had a magic wand, I did.
“My name’s Kilgrave.”  He leaned forward.  “What’s yours?”
“(y/n),”  I mumbled.

“Pretty name,”  Kilgrave grinned.  “Now, what do you like to eat?”  Without waiting for my answer, he continued.  “I personally like a good steak.  That’s what you should have.  Am I right?”
I furrowed my brow.  “I’m actually a vegetarian.”
Kilgrave frowned and instead of butterflies, an uneasy feeling surfaced in my stomach.
“No,” he leaned forward again.  “You’re not.”
“I….”
“Say it.”
“I’m….not vegetarian,”  I stammered.
“Good,” Kilgrave smiled again.  “Now about that steak….”
When the waiter returned Kilgrave ordered for both of us, ignoring the blondes once again.
While we waited, Kilgrave took out his phone and completely ignored all three of us.  All I could do was sit.
When the food came, I had to hold my breath when the juicy steak was placed in front me.  Kilgrave delved into his own, only looking up when he noticed I wasn’t eating.
“Eat,” he stated coldly.
Much to my dismay, I picked up my fork and cut a piece of the meat.  It was agony to lift it to my mouth.  I had been without meat for the past ten years.  I placed it in my mouth.  I gagged.
Kilgrave looked at me again, in alarm.  “What’s the matter? Not cooked well enough?”
“I’m vegetarian,”  I repeated.
Kilgrave rolled his eyes.  “What did I say? You’re not vegetarian.  It’s all in your head.  Now, I’d like to eat my dinner without you barfing.  Eat your steak in quiet.”
I chewed the steak and I tried hard, so hard, to be quiet.  But the flavor burned against my tongue and I leaned over the table and puked.
Kilgrave stared at me, his eyes on fire.  I’d never been so scared in my life.  “Why didn’t you do what I said?”  He shook his head.  “I suppose it was foolish to force you to eat meat.  I forgive you this time.”  He pointed his fork at me.  “But it better not continue.  I’ll turn you into a carnivore eventually.”  He sighed.  “Go to the restroom and clean up.  If I’m having sex with you later the smell of puke will ruin the mood.  And (y/n)…. don’t run away.”
My stomach dropped as I headed to the restroom.  I was going to have sex with him?
When I returned to the table everything was cleaned and Kilgrave had finished his meal.  He stood up, dropping his napkin onto his plate.
“Now for dessert,” he grinned.  “You’re coming with me.”
He started to walk out of the diner, the blondes close behind.  I didn’t follow.  I stay rooted where I was, willing my brain to remain in control.
Kilgrave stopped at the door and turned to look at me.  His expression was pleasant, but when he spoke, I could hear the barely contained anger.  “Come, (y/n).  I won’t tell you again.”
And I did.

Kilgrave is the worst. But I'm obsessed with him. If he were real, I'd wanna run far, far away...but since he's not, I am totally attracted to him, haha. You did an amazing job on this. My only issue is that there is a pronoun switch mid way, you start with I and me and switch to you somewhere in the middle, then back to I. That said, you totally capture his slimy evil ways. Thanks for posting this!

While I do think Kikgrave is bad...very bad...I don't think he is evil. I mean compared to his Comic version, his cinematic version is far more pleasant and charming and less purple lol but I do like you kept that video of I'm here give me what I want when I want it and also gonna take what I want.

Hmm I disagree. Chopping up your dad and killing your mom seems pretty evil to me, among other things, such as having a girl kill her parents. But I'm glad you seemed to like it!

Now that is bad and wring yes I agree. But in Kevin mind that is the best thing to do, the most nomad way to react. He felt alienated he felt like a monster and when he hugged his mother I genuinely felt in that moment he did fell sorry. Kilgrave powers is like a curse imagine having to contemplate every word you say before you say it.he can no switch off his powers he used his powers to survive it's like his 6 sense. Imagine getting anything you wanted and then you find yourself not able to get that one thing.I think I'd be scared and as fascinated with the one thing and think of all the ways I cpuld get that said thing essppically if it let me.
The way kilgrave reacts with his past and how he is is completely normal.
He's angery and scared he never really had proper guidance to help him being sociopath and not seeing anything wrong in what he dose beacuse he genuinely thinks there's no th ing wrong with it. He feels he was made this way no one helped him. Which he isn't roght but he isn't wrong.

But yes I did enjoy it! Love your other works too

Kilgrave is awful. Even his name screams that he's evil. Regardless of all that, you did an awesome job on this story! I really liked that the reader was kind of stronger than his mind control or whatever it is. Anways, amazing story!
