A/N: this one-shot really wasn't supposed to be this long....I feel like I've reached overkill. But, when has that ever stopped me? Please enjoy, part 5! With probably a part 6.....

You refuse to leave the hospital. After the attack on Castiel, you can't bear to leave his side. Dean and Sam tried to argue with you, but you only stated firmly if Cas died, you'd die with him. Dean and Sam eventually gave up and geared their efforts toward protecting the room instead. They had shifts, one keeping guard while the other stayed at Bobby's researching. You won't sleep either. When you do, your dreams are fraught with nightmares and you either wake up screaming or in a cold sweat. You gave up after the first couple of times. You don't like leaving Cas alone, anyway. Someone has to be awake while he sleeps. The nurses and doctors left you alone, and you figure Dean has something to do with it. He won't let anyone bother you. You finally heal enough to walk around a little, but you tire quickly. Mostly you spend your time sitting by Cas, holding his hand desperately. One week turns into two and Cas remains the same. Sometimes you hear the doctors murmuring. They seem to have little hope. When this happens, you bury your head in Cas's hand, crying silently.
You had just finished one of these when Sam enters the room, holding a small bag. You wipe your eyes quickly and give him a tight smile.
"What's up?"
He holds up the duffle bag. "Just thought you might want a change of clothes."
"Oh. Thank you, Sam," you turn your head back to Cas.
"Okay. I'll just leave them here," Sam says quietly, shutting the door closed behind him. You change quickly, moving back to sit on Cas's bed.
"Cas, please," you say fiercely. You squeeze his hand. That's when you hear the crash. You jump up from the bed, opening the door and looking out into the corridor. Sam is gone. You go back into the room, searching through the duffle bag. You find a knife and clutch it closely, returning to the door. The lights are flickering and a spike of fear shoots through you. You step out anyway, locking Cas's door behind you. You peer down the hall, stepping on something gooey. You look down and see a dark red puddle. Blood.
"Sam?" you call tentatively, raising your knife.
"Sam is....indisposed right now," a voice purrs from behind you. You swing around, heart pounding. It's her. For a second you freeze, nearly dropping your knife. Terror like you've never felt spreads.
"You," you choke out.
"Me," the woman- creature- grins. She's wearing a tight fitting suit. It might have been attractive if not for the dark red spots splashed across the surface. Her face is twisted, a dark and ugly brown color. She places her hand on her hip, grinning. Blood stains her teeth. "Sam was pretty tasty."
"If you hurt him-"
She laughs. "Honey, of COURSE I hurt him. Duh. Anyway, I didn't kill him. I had to save my appetite for....you know. You and Cas."
You swallow, your throat thick. "You can't have him. Take me."
She shakes her head, stepping around the red puddle. You move toward Cas's door, angling your body in front of it.
"You know I never leave a job unfinished," she says sweetly. Then, she lunges.
