MY HEART. WOW. THE AMOUNT OF DETAIL PUT INTO THE SETTING AND MOST ESPECIALLY THE GOLDEN OAKS LIBRARY. AHHHHHHHHH <3 I REALLY LOVE THE BRIGHT AND VIBRANT COLORS THAT SHOW EVERYTHING AT ITS BEST AND the representing the unforgettable yet wonderful times at the library. Ahhhh, you really convey the emotion in the atmosphere well, my heart <33

The color and the shading with the brushes that you used make it look so cozy. Then there's the silhouette of the ponies and it gives almost that distant feeling, yet still a reminder that is so heartwarming. Great job ahh

Oddly, I miss the square scene even more than the tree. It was a cozy town square.

I like the exercise in perspective, though. Kinda makes it look like it's on top of a hill slope going far down towards the forest, not sure if intended.

LolliponyArt In reply to TwilightIsMagic [2018-09-28 05:59:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, now that you mention it, it did bring a lot of personality to the town. What's even left of the square now? The castle sits on the edge of Ponyville if I'm not mistaken.

Yeaah, that's my feeble attempt at a fish eye effect but Ill just pretend I drew it like a hill that rolls down to the forest regardless, I'm happy you like it! ^^

Never really liked major changes the show did. Alicorn Twi, destruction of the Oaks library, the Friendship castle. It all seems too rapid.

LolliponyArt In reply to Stuntpony [2018-10-05 09:01:50 +0000 UTC]

Might wanna add alicorn Starlight to that list for S9 XD tbh, I was okay with alicorn Twi. Not entirely sure why, but I'll accept it. But yeah the crystal castle still feels like an eyesore. It's also in the outskirts of town so we don't get ponyville scenes nearly enough

Stuntpony In reply to LolliponyArt [2019-12-23 09:46:27 +0000 UTC]

Wait, what? I don't follow the show anymore, care to help me out here? When was STARLIGHT, ALREADY UNFAIRLY treated character(given a PRIVILEDGE of being Twilight's student after nearly destroying the very reality), ASCENDED?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Stuntpony In reply to LolliponyArt [2018-10-05 09:44:37 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm not so much having problems with Alicorn Twi, but how rapidly she was made into one. Delivery was super weak. You just restore memories of true friendships with a spell when they go away, and you ascend? That's why I don't like it.

Thanks Lenny! But you gotta know I have little to no experience with traditional painting so any similarity is purely chance XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LennyStendhal13 In reply to LolliponyArt [2018-09-12 21:21:13 +0000 UTC]

Oh my gosh, that would have been fantastic! They could still do it in one episode! It wouldn't have the same symbolical meaning as at the end of S4, but it would still be a great idea for an episode

No problem my friend! You could give traditional painting a try someday, maybe you'll find out you're super talented for that as well! I wouldn't be surprised hehe

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LolliponyArt In reply to LennyStendhal13 [2018-10-07 07:25:09 +0000 UTC]

99% chance they won't. Cuz then they don't get to sell the crystal fun castle toy set... Any kid would pick a castle over an oak tree

I've tried before, but never quite got the hang of it. Also clean up is just terrible XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LennyStendhal13 In reply to LolliponyArt [2018-10-07 15:16:40 +0000 UTC]

Sad but true ;-; still, what if they could sell the castle AND the library? Hasbro would get their beloved money, fans would get their beloved oak back, and everyone would be happy: it's a win-win!
...and since life has taught me win-wins hardly make it to become reality, that's probably not going to happen

Totally agree on the cleaning up part! I ruined so many clothes when I painted

Your author's space is so simple yet invokes a powerful emotional response.
You can't recover the past, no matter how much you want to. You can only look back; choosing to reminisce or wonder what could have been.

<3 I like things the way they are. I find it hard to adapt to change. Sometimes I like to go back to the way things were, but the present is what really matters.

Change is a fickle thing, both fun and terrifying. I love new things but the comfort of the old always clings.

I agree, the present matters immensely in the sense that it impacts the now and your future. Time flies, and you will soon be looking back on it. Was what you did worth remembering?

I like things the way they are but it's hard to get me to try something new when I already know I enjoy the way it is. I find it usually leaves me with regret when I stay the same. Gotta take the opportunities that arrive!

TheMultiBrony22 In reply to LolliponyArt [2018-09-08 08:40:28 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome.

For me, the problem with the new episodes is that they have too many slice of life moments whereas the older episodes really made Equestria seem like it was some beautiful fictional land.

The newer ones do that too, just not as originally.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LolliponyArt In reply to TheMultiBrony22 [2018-09-13 08:06:13 +0000 UTC]

I'd disagree with that, actually. I feel like it's the loss of focus on the mane 6, their lack of development and loss of good lessons. I've found a lot of the new episodes seem like the mane 6 took a step back in their friendship and the meaning of the whole episode is unclear. Idk that's just my two cents on it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheMultiBrony22 In reply to LolliponyArt [2018-09-13 17:30:06 +0000 UTC]

Well that too. But some episodes do focus on them, but sadly they don't portray them in a likeable fashion.
