Okay so that turned out worse than I had expected
I had originally planned for it to be an early sunrise kind of lighting, but I guess I went overboard with it.So I've been trying to incorporate some little things I learned about colour theory and I guess to some extent, I managed to do that. I just got to keep practicing!
Also, I probably should have drawn this on my tanned paper as I think it would better compliment the colours I was using.Β
Nonetheless, it was really fun experimenting around with the basics!
Edit* Scans made it look all mucky so I used a camera to take it instead. Captures the luminosity of the piece better!

It's just coloring pencils xD I'm not very satisfied with pigment on black paper. The colours end up very different from how it appears to be!

I'm a little bit in awe of this. I think I like your experimental things the best hahaha. It's honestly just so gorgeous and wonderful to look at. Reminds me of the Northern Lights as well as just plain neon lights. Absolutely amazing!

Ohh thank goodness! I still got the overall feel down. I'm glad you think it wasn't a total "bust" xD get it? Bust as in portrait?
Next time, I might go either less on the saturation and more on actual lighting, or even more saturated and kind of make it into a style of hard contrast. And yes, most definitely. I think I'll generally refrain from using darker colours on black paper. Tan paper works for basically any colour! So yeah, tanned paper next.
