try gorgeous.
rio is my <3 ... moved to barcelona .. i moved to boston. shrug.
the leica... well its everything i had dreamed of, and more.
getting negs back from the lab is a RUSH.. its like.. "oh yeah, thats what i was paying for"
it really was a life-long investment, because i know i will look back on the camera as a sixty year old seasoned photojournalist (hah) and know that was the camera that started it all for me..
and then i'll go grab my leica dlsr and squeeze off a couple hundred megapixel frames.
cheers man, i would heavily suggest one.

i highly recommend an m6 ttl with a 35mm summicron
its working wonders for me
the r9 with the d-modul is coming out soon.. that'll be as close as we get.
mm a digital M would be.. perfect.

I'm workin on it, man. Just had to spend an assload of money on fixing my car and laptop. Starting a job this week though.
Digital M takes the whole beauty of the Leica away I think.

in my opinoin, it would just add to the legacy of the M.
shooting a leica M is about being undetected. its also about the quality of the glass you are able to shoot with, and lastly its about upholding a tradition of exceptional build quality and engeneering.
its not about shooting film.
its about the shutter being one of the quietest on the market
its about the ability to sneak your leica in, anywhere, undetected.. while providing images that larger cameras would only dream of helping to create.
its about a RANGEFINDER. being able to focus on anything, in complete darkness
its about the cleanest looking viewfinder out there, not to mention one of the largest. and being able to see outside of the frame..
what do you believe would be taken away from the M line by going digital? im interested.

You got the R9 if you really want Leica to go digital.
What I think would be taken away?
The intensity of taking a shot, knowing it's there, taking it to the developer's (or developing yourself) and then seeing the result. The same rush you mentioned in one of your descriptions. For some reason it makes me feel a lot more accomplished when I've taken a good shot and criticize myself when I haven't. Can't get that with digital. "Oops. Bad shot. Delete."
That's what I miss the most about film shooting and that's one of the main reasons I want to go back.

in all honesty i usually dont look at my photos until i'm either out of space or back at home..
i still use my light meter in my d70..
i mean.. the same could be applied to shooting any film camera.. i dont think you realize what the M is all about.
its about the sytem, not just the format.

I probably don't realize what it's abourt yet because I haven't had the experience/priviledge of using one.
I'll get back to you on this topic when I do get mine

i like that attitude.
i had my heart set on one.. and the feeling that came over me for the weeks following the purchase.. priceless.
it'll enrich you're shooting experience. truly.
read about henri cartier bresson's "decisive moment" .. you only get that using a leica.

And how could you not like someone whose name is Roxy? Even though her friends call her...sorry, I can't help but think of Eddie Murphy singing out that name...

I like the various levels of framing in this. The doorway, the alcove with the doorway in it, and then onto the added black border. The way the white areas almost glow is a cool effect too.

thanks, she works in a clothing store called villians vault and we stopped by to say hi/goodbye to some of her co workers..
its a cool shop... and i was on her card, so i got 50% off
the framing on a leica is intereseting, because its hard to get the perfect angle.. you dont really know where the corners are.. they arent drawn in the viewfinder.

This is great... I love the framing of the door and the exposure is perfect. The little shine on her hair is so complementing to her beauty.
Very fine and crisp.
I actually kinda like the crookedness.

wow nice hi contrast shot! When I first saw it I thought she was stuck in the door
I really like the framing, both in the pic with the door frame, then the door way, then your black vertical bars
