Not fun enough in comparison to my vision of a modem movie titled Unknown Island

Never though there was a movie about a killer giant sloth.

I saw pictures and clips of those monsters, and I gotta say, the Latexsaurus suit really does look very uncomfortable to wear.

Apparently, being inside these costumes was pure hell! At least one guy passed out -he's the Ceratosaurus that falls down in the movie.

There is a between-scenes shot of one of the bigger, burlier grips leaning over in order to let his buddy in the dino suit lean on his back and get a little rest.

I think that photo was snapped by a young Bob Burns on the set. It looks like the dinosaurs are having some sexy time with the crew.

Jesus, this is making the original Bemular suit sound like something that will feel cozy to wear around.
Not to menion, if you want a good example of a theropod suit done right, look at the Gorosaurus suit.

I think so, but it 's from my time era. Now with all the computer stuff and younger people I believe they will die out as my age group dies out, a shame really.

I remember seeing this on TV waaaaaaay back when I was a kid. Ceratosaurs, a Dimetrodon, and a "giant sloth" that looked like a cross between an orangutan and a mandrill baboon.

That's a pretty original mix of critters

The film also had a pretty good mix of techniques used to bring the critters to film life.
Besides the latex and fur suits, the SFX department also created created puppets, primitive animatronics, and unmoving figures who were pulled along a hidden track by unseen wires.

They pretty much did everything but use stop-motion. Every technique available to them and their budget was put to use.

I saw this on tv only once, I had no idea it was still the 40's when it was made. I remember the ape beast being scary as hell and killing some scummy member of the party.

The giant sloth (ape beast) is actually probably the most effective critter in the movie. It's ironic that it was sort of slapped together by Ray "Crash" Corrigan, slightly modifying one of his ape suits (I believe he had three -one of them white), while a considerable effort was put into the funny-looking dinosaurs.
