the pain is real; the blood is not.cutters get a lot of flack for being whiney attention seekers. but if we were really seeking so much attention, wouldn't we just flat out ask for it? instead of taking blade to flesh, why not just say, "i need a hug?" so next time you see a cutter on dA or meet on in real life--trust me, we're everywhere--try to find the message behind the blood. there is true pain there. pain that tears alone cannot communicate.

I found your blog and it had a link to your deviant art thing by the way, in case you wondered who I am. I think this is such an intense, morbid piece. It's really provocative. I used to do things like this. Real blood, real cuts et cetera and I'd do it on pages of my diary et cetera. I used to feel like I was really sick but I think more people than it seems actually do it. Writing in your blood and smearing it about is weird. Of course it is. But so it cutting in the first place and there is something profoundly repulsive about writing in it that makes it appealing when you feel incredibly dark. It somehow just feels necessary sometimes.
