Description
This a filler and it took about ten minutes to do. I managed to squeeze this in when I was waiting for my snail-speed computer to open MS Word...This is part one, the shoulder boards
NOTE: Junior Brigadier General is a Special Operations only rank, non-SpecOps Brigadiers are simply called Brigadier General. The Junior Brigadier may overrule Colonels but can be overturned by Senior Brigadiers or higher.
The rank Corporal has the same markings and equal command authority as the rank Specialist, but a Specialist is a Corporal that has chosen go though training in technical fields not required of average soldiers and thus get paid more. The field of specialty is generally denoted by a shoulder patch.

I like your design. Do you mind if I use the pattern for my own forces? With credit to you, of course.

Ha!
I love the Generalissimo rank. It sounds awesome.
Where's the Grand Marshal patch?

The Grand Marshall is actually a civilian rank, it can only be undertaken by the Premier or the General Secretary of the High Council. When it comes to authority, the Grand Marshall will lay out what the government wants to get done and the Generalissimo only has say over how it gets done.

Very informative... is this ranking insignia for a generic navy/army, or a specific one, like the UNSC from Halo for example?
I can use these to help me with ranking order for soldiers in the fics I submit on this site... since I don't know my lieutenants from my sargeants lol

Thanks!
This is the ranking system for the Commonwealth of Socialist States, a coalition of five (out of the total of 8) species that inherited the Earth after the humans left.
I don't blame you, since many platoon commanders don't know what they are doing anyway, it's all up to the Master Sarge. Take note, however, that the UNSC uses "Sergeant Major" instead of "Sergeant 1st Class" and that two highest ranks here do not officially exist in the Haloverse.

Oh yeah, and they also have Staff Sergeant between Sergeant Major and Sergeant.

Hehe...his ranking system is a bit different than the standard one used here.
It's custom.
There are similarities, there are differences. You'll have to ask him though...
BUT I can say it's for the CSS.... the small band of rebels who rise to power in the end.
You'll have to read his stories to find out, though.
