Anastasia is one of those movies I can only ever take with a grain of salt; in the first place, I can only talk about anything to do with Russia so much because (for whatever reason) Russia makes me cry. From Tchaikovsky's personal life to the Romanov murders, everything I know about Russian history is depressing; to know it all so many years after the fact and that people knew it and just sat there and let it all happen is almost overwhelming. Even as late as 2007, a guy who happened to be descended from a Romanov cousin died due to "mysterious circumstances," which both ticks me off and almost leaves me in despair. Don Bluth's Anastasia was cute and had an amazing score and all, but 1) Anastasia Romanov was not one of the two missing bodies; it was her sister, Maria, that they couldn't find, along with her brother, Alexei; and 2) by this time, all of them have been accounted for.
