Description
TwinsTwo halves
Two faunus
Beings intertwined
A living contrast of each other
Each a mirror image of it's twin
One passive, calm, and stoic
One aggressive, daring, and impulsive
Though their ideals are in constant conflict
They know, alone they are nothing
But together, they can do anything
Driven to protect each other at all cost
Each baring a unique trait of their complete self
Two parts of one soul
Working together as one
Always
Even though their distance varies
--------------------------------------------
Yeah, so there that is. I've talked/written about Oreonna's semblance before, but I've always wanted to draw what her two halves looked like. Also I named them? In clearly the most creative of ways.
So. The rules here.
Ori and Anna share aura in this form, if one takes to much damage, the two of them are thrust back into one.
Theirs a limited amount of distance the two can travel from each other. Exceeding that limit gives both halves extreme headaches. This distance has been increased over the years through training, but still the two of them must be wary not to travel to far from each other.
Each half wields a part of Oreonna's weapon, Symphonic Discord. Anna (the black haired one) gets her bow sword, and Ori (white) gets the violin shield.
Neither one of them can speak. Instead they share a kind of mental link top communicate.
Welp! There's a bunch of info no one asked for! Maybe I'll do other illustrations of my OC's semblances? Eventually?

Something I've always wondered looking at this picture, and forgive me for being morbid, but whether or not it was the case that Oreonna was a chimera and whether or not her semblance was a manifestation of a "what if" scenario had her twin not been absorbed while she was in the womb? Like I said, it's a really morbid and kind of gross question, but it's also something that's always jumped to mind while looking at the character though. But now I've asked it, so I'm good.

Honestly. No lie. I’ve thought about this before. Yeah, it’s a little morbid, but it is something that crosses my mind from time to time...
Haven’t decided if I’ll implement it into my “canon”, but... I guess we’ll see.

So is it one becoming two or two becoming one?

In a way, I guess? Mainly it just serves as an excuse as to why she had both cat ears and a tail.

I WONDERED if that was your way of working around that. I think it works pretty well in terms of a unique semblance and with her unique heritage from Neo.

I really like this visualization of her semblance.

I guess that means she's got a split personality, eh? Eh?

Ah! They're here! I was wondering if they would ever show up sometime. I'm just gonna say it though, it's so odd seeing Oreo without ears!
That's very interesting that they can't talk, although it's clear from both that fact and their heterochromic eyes that they get that trait from their mom. Albeit a trait that was taken to the extreme, but a passed down trait nonetheless.
Question! A dumb question that doesn't make any sense because I can't word goodly, but a question regardless: Do they have free will or are they just controlled by Oreo? They have separate personalities taken from Oreo's good and bad traits, but when she splits do they have different minds that can function independently or are both of their minds just Oreonna working as two people at once?
Hopefully that makes sense lol.
Good work as always! If you do end up deciding to do more MOON semblances, I'll be waiting in anticipation!

That is an incredibly difficult question to answer, as well as to ask apparently (jk).
I’ll spare the world me typing up a thousand word thesis on the nature of a soul just for the sake of explaining my dumb OC’s superpowers, but let’s just say for the sake of argument the two have some level of free will and intelligence. Oreonna still controls them, they’re both a part of her psyche, their actions are just defined by the part of Oreonna they come from. The black haired one might be more likely to aggressively throw herself in harms way for a chance to attack, while the white one would try be patient and nimbly dodge and take her time to get close.
Hope that helps answer your question without creating seven more!
Also I had an idea a while back that if Oreonna was ever able to get better control over her emotions, and her mind (not being a teenager would probably help) then maybe she’d be able to create more copies of herself? There are a lot of shades of gray between white and black after all. Just an idea I’m kind of workshopping that might come into play some day.

So what you're saying is that one day there's going to be... Fifty Shades of Oreonna?

Simply brilliant.⭐️ Good to know they have names. Shame they can't talk, would of been funny to see Orionna argue with herself. I guess cats got her tongue.

Agreed, it´d be hilarious if she argued with herself.
That´s actually why I plan on having Ruby get the ability to create clones of herself in my fanfiction.
Also, there´s Grimm based on the Visorak, in case you´re familiar with those.
Weiss encounters them in a nightmare created by a mentally unstable sociopath who hates her family and got sent to prepare her for her future trials.
He interpreted it as "Mentally scar the girl for life and give her an army of crazy powerful Grimm to command."
He´s fun at parties.

(I don't know if I've mentioned this before) If you want a mentally scared Ruby check out React Watch Believe Yikes on AO3.com it's team RWBY reacts to Red vs Blue. Keep in mind it was written back during vol.2
dude, have you seen my thumbnail picture.

Thanks, but I don´t really want Ruby to be mentally scarred. Well, more than she might be in my fanfiction if things go wrong, that is.
Seriously, in my headcanon, her silver eyes are triggered by intense sorrow, and she can learn to sense it in others to use her silver eyes if she wants, but it obviously takes a huge toll on her, and if she´s not careful she might go crazy.
And yes, I have seen your thumbnail picture. That´s why I brought them up in the first place. I borrowed them from someone else, though.
Also, two of my OCs, Sophie Weber and Sirena Blue, are actually inspired by Bionicle.
Sophie is based on the Visorak, and hates Grimm. She can use her semblance to create a hive-mind with other beings and uses it to further her goal of destroying all Grimm. She has also adopted the instincts of a certain type of spider, making her aggressively territorial and incredibly dangerous. So dangerous in fact that Ozpin plans to tell her of Salem, should Salem ever get two of the Relics. Sure, hundreds of people will die as a result, but Sophie will find Salem, and so far, Sophie never lost a fight with a Grimm. Or let them get away.
Sirena comes from a place that´s inspired by Mahri Nui. It was founded thousands of years ago by a few faunus who wanted to be safe from human persecution, so they fled into the ocean. Over time, everything that can be an advantage became the norm, such as six toes per foot or skin lobes between the fingers. Also, everyone´s got gills. In my fanfiction, Sirena mainly serves as Ruby´s guardian/mentor and teaches her all there is to know about the silver eyes.

It's nothing bad, all Ruby gets is a multiple personality disorder. She gets a different personality for each season of redvsblue. There's an overly emotional Ruby, a mean Ruby who makes Weiss look nice, a ninja Ruby who you can never find, a Ruby who's too into her Reaper side, a perverse Ruby, a smart Ruby, a sweet Ruby who just likes hugging people, an action hero Ruby, a weird Ruby (Don't ask), the tenth and final Ruby personality, who has yet to appear, has all the knowledge of Oum.
Boy, what a tangled web you weave.

Ah, ok.
You have no idea...
I mean, I could summarize my fanfiction for you, but you could just as well go an read it.
I´m quite sure you´ll like the dream sequence where Weiss learns to summon Grimm based on the Visorak.
One of my friends even said that it could fit right into a horror movie.

High Priest: "Well how interesting. A rare trait Faunus that can separate, in to two and go back to one again. Although she is just a stupid animal."
Rita: "Shut up, you racist bastard!"
High Priest: "What did you say... half breed."
Rita:
(It was the only thing I found nicely done tho.)
