Why on earth have I never tried playing around with doing shading on multiple layers before?

I have an old tutorial (that I someday will do again because its looks horrible haha) that expains the shading trick a little better
I didn't use it here, but it is a handy way to shade and I often use it

Question for you, when you do the first block in color, do you use a brush tool or a bucket tool? I tried that line art trick and found some of my lines had sloppy mixed colors where two solid colors in the color layer butted together.

I use a bright blue colour first and colour a section on with the bucket, then I colour in the rest with a pen tool. Maybe it's better explaining with some visuals haha here is a speedpaint a did a while ago: youtu.be/86SwixbNLZM around 6 minute I start colouring it in ! Each colour has it's own layer and the next one is always underneath the first
