Description
step by step of
program used Paint tool SAI
time taken ~3 hours
step one rough sketch - I also didn't really had the design planned that well
step two lineart for me is more of a second sketch I just clean it up a lot. I used the last brush from this list
step three I colour everything by using the bucket tool, however I do go in with my coloring brush (first brush from the brush list from step two) to make sure I touch every pixel
step four I use my air brush to give the skin more dimension. here's a tutorial that goes in more detail on how I do the skin . I also add patterns, golden rims and gradients.
step five lineart trick I almost always use on my work, its still very handy. here is a tutorial that explains how I get my lineart to be coloured like that
step six untop of the drawing I used the same brush as the line art brush and added thin jewelry.
step seven and one of my favourite parts, the shading. here is a tutorial on how I do my shading
step eight after almost finishing this I felt something was missing. I took inspiration from a previous drawing I did of the prince and wanted to add it in the design. Instead of using blue I used purple here, so the colours from the pants would come back somewhere in the design.
step nine Highlights ! I go in more detail about the highlights in the tutorial for the shading, from step seven
This time I added in a smaller box where you can see the steps a little bit clearer, at least I hope. Hope it was useful, if someone has any questions don't be afraid to ask ~

very helpful, thank you!! do you think lineart can be done in a shorter time with practice?? I try to draw but I end up sketching only, and I admit that I'm lazy to take longer time for lineart... any advice??

I became faster with lineart with practice so it's surely possible! I always use the ereaser just as much as the lineart brush, maybe that helps? Sorry giving art advice is hard when I only have words
